Saturday their daughter, Ellinor and Craig Andrew BeVier were married in Boyce Memorial ARP Church. Sunday the Preston and . Owens families gathered at the Holiday Inn for their 29th wedding anniversary brunch, Members of the Preston-Owens wedding party on August 11, 1963 in Boyce Memorial ARP Church returned forthe event hosted by the couple's children, Dean Preston and Ellinor and Craig Be Vier. Special guests included Dr. John Montgomery Preston IV, fa- ther of Mr. Preston who was best man, and Peggy Reynolds Levergood, who was maid of honor for the former Pat Owens, daughter of Mr.and Mrs. Fred Owens. Levergood's 1963 red dress she wore in the formal wedding was on display as were portraits from the wedding party and the 1963 guest book. Mrs. John White Ellis who kept the register at the 1963 wedding and her daughter, Julie Ellis, who kept the wedding at the 1992 wed- ding, also attended the anniversary breakfast. The honored couple took the oc- casion to present birthstone jewelry to each other and Mrs. Preston wore the orchid corsage she wore for her daughter's wedding. The late Rev. Robert Elliott offi- ciated the 1963 nuptials at which the late Mrs. N. F. McGill Sr., was LIB STEWART | @ Social Notes § Ae Young people give program The seven young people who represented the American Legion and Auxiliary Post and Unit 155 at Girls State and Boys State in June will present the program at Thursday's meeting of the Auxiliary at 6:30 p.m. at the Legion Building. Presenting the program will be Karla Moore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rick Moore; Cari Sipe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Sipe; Kathryn Goforth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Goforth; Melanie Dixon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Dixon; Lindsey Suber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Suber; Tee Gee Goforth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Goforth; and Doug Bridges, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bridges. All the students are high school seniors. They and their parents will be guests of the Auxiliary at a cov- ered dish supper, after which the students will present the program. Post Commander Larry Deaver and Unit President Margaret Ratterree will introduce the speak- ers. EB Hospice of Cleveland County is offering two sessions of its be- reavement support group, "The Caring Circle," beginning Tuesday and continuing Tuesdays through September 15 at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. at Cleveland Memorial Library, West Marion St., Shelby. Each session will last 1 1/2 hours and the public is invited. Total con- fidentiality is maintained. For more information on the program call Hospice at 487-4677. See Lib, 4-B organist. Mrs. McGill's grandson, Norman Fuller McGill III, was or- ganist for Ellinor Preston's wed- ding Saturday. Sisters and the brother of Mrs. Preston were in the original wed- ding party and were also present with their families for the brunch. They included Frances Owens Herndon of Lugoff, SC, Helen Owens Ayscue and John Owens, and Louise Owens Lynch, all of Kings Mountain. Not present were her sisters, Joyce Ramsey of Anderson, SC and Mau Dava Owens Morton of Nashville. The Prestons have resided 22 years in Midland. The Magnolia Room of the Holiday Inn was decorated with summer flowers and mementos from the 1963 wedding. The Midland Prestons also came to Kings Mountain last weekend for Mrs. Preston's class reunion at the Country Club. The former Ellinor Preston was honored August 6 at a lingerie shower at Holiday Inn poolside. Cindi Collins, maid of honor, was hostess. ; The Ranch House in Charlotte was the setting August 6 for a bachelorette party honoring Miss Preston. Bridal attendants in the wedding were hostesses. Craig BeVier was honored at a bachelor party August 7 following the rehearsal dinner. Brian Grooms, best man, and groomsmen were hosts in the Holiday Inn Lounge.
