\ CROP Walk (Christian Rural Overseas Project)1992 has been set for Sunday, October 25. Rain date is November 1. Chairman David Dellinger is putting out a plea to area churches and businesses to help this year's effort. The goal is to have 300 ; walkers and raise over $7,000. CROP Walk is a 10 K (6.2 mile) walk in which individuals get pledges per kilometer in order to i 4 Margaret Hunnicutt and her granddaughter, Susan Smith, were raise money for world hunger. "As important as world charities - are, it is more important to note that 25 percent of the money raised remains in Kings Mountain and supports our local Crisis Ministry," Dellinger said. The walk will begin at Central United Methodist Church, 113 S. Piedmont Avenue, at 2 p.m. Following a kickoff pep rally, the walk will proceed throughout the among winners of perfect attendance awards on Rally Day Sunday at First Presbyterian Church. Perfect attendance awards presented Hilda Goforth and Margaret Hunnicutt were top winners of per- fect attendance awards at First Presbyterian Church Sunday School during the year. The awards were presented on Rally Day Sunday. Mrs. Goforth was honored for 42 years of perfect attendance and Mrs. Hunnicutt was honored for 41 years of perfect attendance. Other winners were Andy Neisler, 22 years; J. T. and Helen McGinnis, 20 years; Scott Neisler, 16 years; Virginia and Drew Neisler, 6 years; Susan Neisler Smith, five years; and Wendy and Garrett Neisler, two years. "We ask that business and indus- try and civic leaders choose some- onc within their firm or organiza- tion to be designated as a recruiter,” Dellinger said. "This person will seek individuals to get pledges and walk as a team to rep- resent their firm or organization. It is hoped that the business or indus- try will match totals that area raised by employees, or if possible, maybe even offer corporate level sponsorship for walkers." Johnson, Bishop of Western North Carolina, will conduct the sacraments of con- firmation and Holy Eucharist at Trinity Episcopal Church on Phifer Road Sunday at 4 p.m. ; A reception after the service will honor the confirmands and wel- come the Bishop. To be confirmed are Clarence and Madge Schull, Herm and Betty Schageter and Angela Sox. Confirmation in the Episcopal Church is the service in which those. who wish to make a mature commitment to Christ receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop. The Holy Eucharist is the celebration of com- munion and all baptized Christians are welcome to receive the bread and wine in the Episcopal Church. Rev.
