Robert Edward Teague, 35, 208 Stowe Acres, failure to appear on drunk and disorderly charge, $600 bond, secured. A 16-year-old female was charged with speeding 54 in a 45 m.p.h. zone. Henry Manning, 43, 504 N. Watterson St., warrant, second degree trespassing, $300 bond, secured. Hongthong Chanthaphaeng, 18, 920 Grover Rd., stop sign violation and seat belt violation, citations. A 16-year- old passenger in his vehicle was also cited for seat belt violation. T. C. Byers, 58, 201 Orr Terrace, warrant for second degree trespassing, $200 bond, secured. Norman Eugene Sipes Jr., 23, Upchurch Mobile Home Park, Cherryville, speeding 60 in 45 m.p.h. zone, citation. Bridget Tonya Maddox, 27, 1104 Stoney Point Road, speeding 44 in 35 m.p.h. zone, citation. A 17-year-old male was cited for speeding 54 mp.h. in a 45 mile zone. Cynthia Banner, 26, 913 Foxcroft Circle, speeding 44 in 35 m.p.h. zone, citation. Destry Riccard, 18, failure to ap- pear, $200 bond, secured. William Earl Ramsey, 51, 119 McGinnis St., possession of stolen property and t possession of firearms by a convicted felon, both felony counts, and misdemeanor charges of simple possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, $10,000 bond, se- cured. Morris Blalock, 29, of 121 1/2 McGinnis St., simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug para- phernalia, citations. Police confiscated 1/2 ounce marijuana. Tracy Dixon Rippy, 32, 108 Carolina Ave., Grover, carrying con- cealed weapon at 121 1/2 McGinnis Street. Tracy Dawn Rippy, 31, of 108 Carolina Ave., Grover, simple possession of marijuana. Police seized marijuana and 10 White Cross speed tablets. Ruth White, 26, 717 Harmon Rd., speeding 45 in 35 m.p.h. zone, citation. Ralph Robert "Big Red" Russell, 28, 604 South Willis St., Dallas, felony count breaking and entering at Pine Manor Apartments, $5,000 bond, se- cured. He was also jailed 30 days for contempt of court. Dwayne Lamont Smith, 30, 213 Maple St., DWI, $300 bond, unsecured. Brian Gann, 18, 503 W. Mountain Street, fictitious license plate, citation. Jamie Martinez, 36, 713 Martha Ave., Gastonia, drunk and disruptive on S. Battleground Avenue, $200 bond, secured. William Lester Hunt, 27, 211 Orr Terrace, drunk and disruptive, $200 bond, unsecured. ‘ A 17-year-old male was charged with drunk and disruptive on S. Battleground Ave. His $100 bond was secured. INCIDENTS Sundrop Bottling, Gastonia, report- ed that drink machines in front of McAbee's Grocery were damaged by vandals. . | Carl Penley, 111 York Road, told police he was walking Sunday morning and two men in a blue foreign make automobile kicked him and cut him with a pocket knife. Police advised warrants, The Pantry, 301 Phifer Rd., reported larceny of a $2.69 bottle of wine. Rachel Gilbert, 822 Second St., re- ported larceny of a .38 handgun, VCR, microwave, and kerosene heater. Jeff Gladden, 313 Wilson Terrace, reported that someone damaged his 1973 vehicle. Myra King Evitt, 503 N. Cansler St., reported $125 damage to windows. M&R Utilities, 651 S. Post Road, Shelby, reported larceny of $36,000 1990 Ford backhoe and front end load- er from a construction site at 722 York Road. Elmer Lumber Co., E. Ridge St., re- ported theft of roofing valued at $35. Priscilla Lewis, 705 Landing St., re- ported over $500 damage to items in her home and car. Darrell Austin, Sherwood Lane, re- ported theft of $2,020 in golf clubs and equipment which was recovered in a field on Roxford Road. Sagesport, 119 W. Mountain St., re- ported that a juvenile took a Michigan basketball shirt. Debra Gregory, 100 Wave Road, reported theft of a li- cense plate. The number: ENZ 9004. WRECKS SEPTEMBER 28 Ellease Ford Brown, 504 Bridges Drive, told Ptl. J. H. Tessener that she was backing from a parking space at Comwell Drug and struck a car operat- ed by Teenia Hamrick Henderson, 949 Bethlehem Church Road, Grover. Damages were estimated at $225. SEPTEMBER 30 A 1992 Nissan truck operated by Michael James Green, 105 S. Watterson St., struck a pole in front of the gas pumps at Phillips 66 parking lot. Damages were estimated at $1000. OCTOBER 2 A 1983 Honda operated by Joseph Lamar Adams, 517 Baker Street, ran into a ditch at North Battleground Avenue at the railroad tracks. The driv- er told police he turned too sharp. A 1989 Jeep operated by Mickey Hendrick, of Spartanburg, S.C, struck a Western Auto Supply tractor trailer do- ing $50 damage to the trailer and $3,000 damage to her vehicle. The ac- cident happened at the exit ramp at NC 161. OCTOBER 3 Frank Richard Lee Long, Mount Carmel Church Road, Troy, was charged with DWI after he wrecked his 1978 Ford on Bridges Drive. Police : said the car was traveling east on. Bridges Drive and hit a deep gulley as he approached a sharp curve. Police saw no visible sign of damage to the vehicle. Police charged Duane Lamont Smith, 213 Maple St., Shelby, with DWI after a two-car wreck at Cansler Street and Waco Road. Nouane Phimnasone, 109 Tara Terrace, operat- ing a 1979 Toyota, made an improper lane change, according to police, and his vehicle struck the Smith 1989 Pontiac doing a total of $800 damage. A 1988 Buick operated by Dorothy Spencer Moore, 202 Lake Montonia Rd., struck a hook attached to a pony ride as she tried to go around a barri- cade for Mountaineer Day activities. The car was damaged $200 and the pony ride was damaged $30. OCTOBER 5 A 1986 Chevrolet operated by Quuthone Sourisoud, 314 Amhurst Drive, struck a 1988 Dodge operated by Mary Sue Sessoms, 814 Fourth Street, at North Piedmont and Walker Streets. Damages were estimated at $1400. : Flowers stolen Grave robbers took 10 silk and arti- ficial floral arrangements from a new grave in Mountain Rest Cemetery last week. Family members said the tent was still up on the William Sellers plot when they returned to see the floral tributes and found at least 10 missing. Persons with any information about thefts of floral pieces from the ceme- tery are asked to contact the Mountain Rest Cemetery office or the Kings Mountain Police Department. 5,805 charged Operation Eagle, the Department of Crime Control and Public Safety's drunk driving enforcement program, resulted in 5,805 charges in 1992. "It was a very successful year," said Secretary Alan V. Pugh. "Not only were 851 potentially deadly drunk drivers removed from the road, but we were able to work with many local law enforcement agencies for the first time." Operation Eagle combines state and local law enforcement to arrest drunk drivers and draw public attention to the problem of drinking and driving in North Carolina. Officers set up check- ing stations to screen motorists for . drunk driving, and go undercover in establishments which serve alcohol to look for potential drunk drivers and ob- serve whether servers are obeying state liquor laws. In the entire five years of the pro- gram, Operation Eagle has resulted in 20,159 charges with 3,554 driving while. impaired arrests and 130 arrest for sales to intoxicated persons. Besides the 851 arrests for DWI in 1992, the State Highway Patrol and lo- cal officers also charged 791 people for not having a driver's license, 474 for driving with their license revoked, and 764 for not wearing their seat belts. State Alcohol Law Enforcement agents arrested 17 people for selling alcohol to intoxicated persons and 64 for un- derage possession of alcohol. Oktoberfest Where: White Oak Manor (formerly Kings Mtn.
