AT ang Ko RN | kt a Kings Mountain Optimist Club kicked off their year-round needy children's project this week with a Thanksgiving donation of $400. Almost immediately club president Jeff Putnam said the club was asked to help a mother and her two children whose table would be empty on Thursday without their generosity. Partners In Love is how school sociologist Hallie Blanton calls the program inaugurated by the club and Kings Mountain District Schools. What it means is that the local organization has opened a special savings account at First Union National Bank. Monies can be do- nated at any time of the year by caring individuals and the money will be used to help needy families such as the one the local club helped Monday when it opened the account.
