She was a retired | textile employee and a member of ; Macedonia Baptist Church. {Surviving are two sons, Lowery + B. Rev. David Philbeck officiated. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. NEIL HULLENDER Neil Edward Hullender, 63, of 811 N. Gantt St., died December 3, 1992 at Charlotte Presbyterian Hospital. A native of Cleveland County, he was the husband of Dorothy Foster Hullender and son of Mrs. Lula Neill Hullender of Kings Mountain and the late Clyde B. Hullender. He was a retired em- ployee of 36 years from FMC, a di- vision of Lithium Corporation. He ‘was a member of Piedmont Baptist Church and a retired Kings Mountain volunteer fireman. Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are one son, Keith Edward Hullender of Fayetteville; one daughter, Patsy H. Lee of Myrtle Beach, SC; one brother, Douglas Hullender of Dallas; one sister, Kay H. Sexton of Kings Mountain; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The funeral was conducted Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Harris Chapgd. Rev. James Williams and Rey# Mark Bardsley officiated. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the building fund of Piedmont Baptist Church. JOHN GRESH MELBOURNE, FL. - Retired Air Force Lt. Col. John A. Gresh, 78, died November 21, 1992 at Holmes Regional Nursing Center. Born in Minersville, Pa., he moved to Brevard County in 1985 from Hollywood. He was a mem- ber of the Retired Officers Association, Pearl Harbor Survivors, Ascension Catholic Church and Miami Elks Lodge. BEAM From Page 1-A in 1972 after a career which spanned 42 years. He quickly be- gan a new career with Foust Textiles in Kings Mountain from which he retired in 1989 for health reasons. : Surviving are two daughters, Mary Ann Beam Huffstetler of Cherryville and Dorothy Harmon Harrill of Clearwater, Florida; one Surviving are his wife, Audrey Hope Gresh; one son, Edward Gresh of Gainesville; one brother, Stanley Gresh of St. Petersburg; two sisters, Sister Marie Agnes of Reading, Pa and Anne Linton of Albuquerque, NM; daughter-in-law Myra Gresh; grandchildren, Tiffany and Jennifer Gresh of Gainesville; and sister-in-law, Juanita Pruitt of Grover. The funeral was conducted November 23 at 10 a.m. at Ascension Catholic Church. Burial was in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. Memorials may be made to Ascension Catholic Church build- ing fund, 2950 N. Harbor Blvd., Melbourne, FL, 32935. ROY CHESTER RUFF Roy Chester Ruff, 72, of 206 W. Gold St., died December 3, 1992. A native of Jackson County, he was son of the late J. C. and Anna Liza Shelton Ruff and was married to the late Dortha Mae Lee Ruff. He was a retired carpenter. Surviving are three sons, Roy Ray Ruff of Wingate, Jerry Ruff of Kings Mountain and James Ruff of Matthews; four daughters, Ellen Smith of Asheville, Ola Locust of Cherokee and Betty Mills and Edna Fletcher, both of Kings Mountain; one brother, Hobert Ruff of Hazelwood; three sisters, Eddie Carpenter of Waynesville, Lizzi Strickland, Hendersonville, and Ethel Strickland of Asheville; 27 grandchildren; and 19 great- grandchildren, The graveside service was con- ducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at Buchanan Cemetery in Waynesville. Rev. Howard Hardin and Rev. Theodore Sellers officiat- ed. MARGARET HOYLE Margaret Champion Hoyle, 72, of 133 Mary's Grove Church Road, died December 8, 1992 at White Oak Manor in Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, she was the widow of Clayton H. Hoyle and daughter of the late Richard C. and Carrie Putnam Champion. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Beulah United Methodist Church in Shelby. Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Champion and Mary Dilling, both of Kings Mountain; one brother, Ben Palmer Champion of Charlotte; and one granddaugh- ter. The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at Beulah United Methodist Church in Shelby. Rev. Robert Boggan will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Kernersville; one brother, Zenas Beam of Bessemer City; 15 grand- children and 12 great-grandchil- dren. : The funeral was conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Central United Methodist Church. Rev. Bob Little and Rev. Jack Cooke of- ficiated. Active pallbearers were John O. Plonk, Wilson Griffin, Don Parker, Fred Withers, Jay Patterson, Jake Dixon and Cleveland Brown. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. Hardware will become a drop off point for anyone who would like to contribute can goods or toys for the needy.
