TTT i i NINTH HUFFSTETLER FEST - The 11 children and their spouses of the late Theodore and Mylie Huffstetler held their ninth reunion at Garden City during the Thanksgiving holidays. A large house is rented and the families stay together and cook and enjoy their Thanksgiving together. The family gets to- gether two times a year, the fourth Sunday in May with all children, grandchildren and great-grandchil- dren, and at Thanksgiving. One brother, Bobby Huffstetler, passed away in 1974. Kings Mountain Police Report Girl Scouts in the Mountain- Grove District will begin the annu- al Girl Scout cookic sale Wednesday. Belly Sue Morris, chairman, said that Girl Scouts of all age levels except the young Daisies will be calling on friends and neighbors to take or- ders for their favorite Girl Scout cookies. Girl Scouts will offer seven vari- ctics at $2.50 per box. They arc Peanut Butter Pattics, Shortbread, Thin Mint, Lemon Pastry Cremes, Praline Royale, Peanut Butter Sandwich and Caramel DeLites. Funds from the sale of cookies are used to provide camperships and travelships to deserving Girl Scouts, for major maintenance and: improvements at Camp Golden Valley and Camp Rotary, and to ¥ Scouts selling cookies enhance the program for girls in troops and at camp. Scouts who sell 300 boxes of cookies in the 13 geographic areas of the Pioneer Girl Scout Council earn incentives. They may choose either the sav- ings bond, cookie dough or camp credits. The scholarship program is offered to Girl Scouts in grades 9- - 12 who sell 400 plus boxes of cookies. INCIDENTS Randy Wayne Yates, 134 Springwood Rd., Grover, reported that his 1985 Plymouth was damaged while parked at Harris-Teeter. Charles Oliver, 831 Church St., re- ported theft of his license plate from a 1986 Chevrolet. The tag number: AVC 4452. : Baucom Chevrolet reported that plate glass windows, coin machines and two vehicles were damaged $1400 during a break-in. Police recovered $20 of the $65 worth of merchandise stolen. John Heath, 403 Waco Rd., reported a residential fire at 308 Waco Road. The house was smoke-damaged. No in- juries were reported. A car tag belonging to Letha Shull, Styers St., Cherryville, was found and the owner may claim at Kings Mountain Police Department. Mark Wood, 1303 Gold St. Ext., told police he was traveling on Shelby Road west and struck a Christmas tree in the roadway which damaged his car $300. Brenda Blanton, IC Kingswood, re- ported $75 damage to a window and screen. Beverly McCarter reported that her purse was taken from a shopping cart while she shopped at Eckerd Drug Store. Henry Manning, 3 Chesterfield, re- ported a break-in and $90 damage to the framing on his front door. Curtis Crawford, 207 S. Gaston St., reported $50 damage to a screen and storm door. Little Dan's, 161 South, reported larceny of $1.01 in gasoline. The Pantry, 301 Phifer Rd., reported larceny of $8.29 worth of beer. A vehicle reported stolen by Debbie Fite was recovered off River Road in Cherokee County, SC by York County Sheriff's Department. Police said the vehicle had been abandoned and burned. WRECKS DECEMBER 25, 1992 A parked 1989 Nissan belonging to Lou Ann Parker was damaged $150 at 21 Georgetown Apartments, according to Ptl. Lisa Capps. DECEMBER 28, 1992 A 1991 Ford operated by Donna Williams Mathis, 407 Country Club Acres, struck a 1991 Ford operated by James Allan Moretz, 211 W. Mountain St., on King Street. Ptl. T. B. Fletcher estimated damages at $2500. DECEMBER 29, 1992 A vehicle which left the scene struck a 1985 Honda owned by Gail Davis Brooks, of Bessemer City, parked at Carpenter and Ridge Streets. Pil. W. FE. Fredell estimated damages at $500. DECEMBER 30, 1992 Bonnie Yates Blanton, of 406 Bennett St., told Sgt. Phil Witherspoon that his foot hit the gas pedal instead of the brake and he struck a parked car at KM Plaza doing $25 damage. The parked car was owned by Mildred P. McNeal, 1707 Northwoods Drive. DECEMBER 31. 1992 Cars operated by Doris M. McGinnis, PO Box 1671, and Luico Wells Wilson, 511 Watterson St., hit at the stoplight at King Street and Gaston Streets doing $375 damage. Pil. M. E. JANUARY 2, 1993 An unidentified vehicle backing from a parking space at Winn-Dixie struck a parked 1989 Chevrolet be- longing to Lewis Daniel Donaldson, 115 Ada St., doing $100 damage. Ptl. W. F.
