EDDIE LEE ADCOCK Mrs. Eddie Lee Adcock, 70, of 110 Chestnut Street, Grover, dicd January 20, 1993 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center. A native of Cherokee County, S.C., she was the daughter of the t late R.G. and Lillie Sellers McMurry and former employee of : Joy Theatre in Kings Mountain and Minette Mills in Grover. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Kings Mountain. She is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Huffstetler of Kings Mountain and Claudia Whisnant of Shelby. A prayer service was conducted by Rev. Harold Beam Thursday at 8 p.m. at Gordon's Mortuary in Blacksburg, S.C. A private inter- ment service was held at Carolina Memorial Gardens in Charleston, SC. KATHERINE ROCHESTER Mrs. Katherine Bryant Story Rochester, 90, of Route 3, Box 73, Chestnut Ridge Church Road, died January 24, 1993 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. A native of Graham County, she was widow of Samuel L. Story and William M. Rochester. She was a retired seamstress. She was a mem- ber of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Joseph Story of Kings Mountain and - Herman Story of Durham; four ' daughters, Agnes Byrum of Charlotte, Betty Brown of « Burlington, Mae Paysour of Dallas and Rosetta York of Hickory; one sister, Nettie Ruff of Forest City; 10 grandchildren and 21 great- grandchildren. The graveside service was con- ducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Pine Hill Cemetery in Burlington. Rev. Mitchell Pruitt officiated. CHELSEY DAVIS Chelsey Lynn Davis, of 199 Country Meadows Lane, infant daughter of Micheal and Jody Messenger Davis, died January 22, 1993 at 8:01 p.m. at Cleveland Memorial Hospital. Surviving, in addition to the par- ents, are one brother, Keiffer Davis of the home; her grandparents, Larry and Susan Davis of Fargo, ND and Don and Sandy Messenger of Kings Mountain; her great- grandparents Clarence and Mayvis Solberg of Horace, ND, Freddie and Mamie Nell Davis of Augustas, ARK, Ruth Messenger of Kings Mountain and Robert and Jean Lynn of Jamestown, NY; two uncles, David and Daniel Messenger of Kings Mountain; and one aunt, Lisa Davis of Fargo, ND. The graveside service was con- ducted Monday at 1 p.m. at Mountain Rest Cemetery. Dr. John W. Sloan officiated. DEWEY DALE WILLIS LINCOLNTON - Dewey Dale Willis, 79, of 315 Jerry Crump Rd., died January 23, 1993 at home. A native of Catawba County, he was the son of the late John and Florence Cook Willis. He had worked as a sales demonstrator and ‘engineering technician for Unicover Engineering. He was a member of Rhyne Heights United Methodist Church where he was on the administrative board and schol- arship committee. Surviving are his wife, Polly McCaslin Willis; one son, Jimmy Willis of Winter Springs FLA; one daughter, Judie Eaker of Cherryville; one sister, Beulah Bumgarner of Newton; four grand- children and two great-grandchil- dren. The funeral was conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at Rhyne Heights United Methodist Church. Rev. Wanda Ogden and Rev. Harold Leatherman officiated. A native of Robeson County, she was wife of David Hugh Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church. She was daughter of the late Joseph Sloan and Nona Smith Branch. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are one son, David Smith of Carrboro; two daughters, Deborah Little of Charlotte and Donna Unger of Woodland Park, Colorado; one brother, Roy B. Branch of Lumberton; one sister, Mary Helen Ward of Lumberton; and 10 grandchildren. The funeral was tonducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Resurrection Lutheran Church. Rev. John Futterer officiated. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. Mote, 70, of 403 Bell Rd., died January 25, 1993 at Cleveland . Memorial Hospital. A native of Jackson County, GA, he was widower of Virginia Chambers Mote and son of the late Elbert Lester and Rutha Holloway Mote. He was a retired textile em- ployee. Surviving are four sons, Billy Mote and Jimmy Mote, both of Kings Mountain, Rev. Johnny Mote of Ellenboro and Rev. Tony Mote of Concord; one daughter, Shirley Adkins of Kings Mountain; one sister, Lottie Mae Dixon of Mooresboro; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The funeral was conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Chestnut ‘Ridge Baptist Church. Rev. Mitchell Pruitt and Rey. Dale Thomburg officiated. Burial was in Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. CLARENCE SAMUEL PLONK Clarence Samuel Plonk, 71, of 1701 County Line Road, died January 17, 1993 at 8 a.m. at Carolinas Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, he was married to Julia Pollock Plonk and was son of the late Clarence Sloan and Ellen Patterson Plonk. He was a farmer and live- stock dealer and a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church. He was a World War II Army veteran. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are five sons, Thomas Plonk of Columbia, SC, Kenneth Plonk of Boulder, Colorado, Michael Plonk of Fort Mill, SC, Rev. Steven Plonk of Clemson, SC and Richard Plonk of Kings Mountain; one daughter, Judith Plonk Davis of Winter Haven, Florida; five brothers, Zeb Plonk, Hal Plonk, Wray Plonk, Dr. George Plonk and John 'B. Plonk, all of Kings Mountain; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Isley of Burlington and |! Mrs. Clara Politis of Ann Arbor, Michigan; and 14 grandchildren. The funeral was conducted January 19, 1993 at 11 a.m. at Resurrection Lutheran Church. Rev. John Futterer officiated. Burial was in St. Luke's Lutheran Church Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Emma Silver Goforth; a daughter, Pamela Smith of Hickory; a grand- daughter, Kristine Freshour Harper of Ashland, Va.; a brother, E.E. "Buddy" Goforth of Gastonia; and six sisters, Mrs. Ione Wallace of Dallas, Mrs. Annie Dickson of Blacksburg, S.C., Mrs. Ida Mae McSwain of Clover, S.C., Mrs. Elizabeth Greenleaf of Flanders, N.J., Mrs. Nan Craft of Gastonia and Mrs. Margaret Lane of Grover.
