Ford Rebate $500 A Kings Mountain High School 9th grader has been suspended from school for 10 days after he re- portedly took a bag of Crack Cocaine to school. Officers with the Kings Mountain Police Department said the offense is a felony possession of a controlled substance. Principal Jackie Lavender said the youth could get his suspension reduced if he takes a drug preven- tion program through CODAP. Officers said the youth claimed the bag of Crack in his possession belonged to another student. "The boy claimed he was holding the controlled substance for another student,” according to the report filed January 21. Kenneth David Harrison, 32, 203 Cook Circle, assault on a female, $500 bond, secured. Dennis Lee Hope Jr., 25, 622-2 Margrace Rd., DWI, $300 bond, unse- cured. Harold DeWayne Foster, 27, 204 Benfield Rd., no insurance and im- proper registration, citations. ANIMAL CONTROL CITATION Iva Mullinax, 114 Guyton Loop, $15 fine on January 19. INCIDENTS Delores Glaze, 804 Sterling Drive, reported $10 damage to a garage after a break-in. City of Kings Mountain reported larceny of $540 in electricity from an apartment at Pine Manor. A meter box had been reportedly stolen and in- stalled at Pine Manor Apartments. No one has been charged. Elizabeth Pruitt, 206 Thornburg Drive, reported a break-in and $15 damage to a window. Barbara Parker, 103 Cameron Drive, reported a break-in and $10 damage to a door. Isaac Hill, 1631 Stoney Point Rd., reported that a chain and black Rotary telephone were taken from his car in the KM Hospital parking lot. Hungry Howie's Pizza and Subs, Kings Mountain, reported that a bank bag containing a deposit was taken from a vehicle in the parking lot and Virginia Moore, 807 Phillips Dr., rc- ported that five windows in her 1981 Buick and one window in her home were damaged $1100. Express Store, 716 Cleveland Ave., reported theft of $9.50 in gasoline. A first degree burglary was reported by FE Lloyd Patterson, 602 Lee Street. Patterson said while he was asleep someone damaged a door to his resi- dence and basement window. Damages were estimated at $200. Manley McKinley, 517 Main St., re- ported $500 damage to his vehicle from falling debris from a big fire at Comfort Inn Saturday. McKinley's car was parked in the parking lot. Kathy McLain, 58 Pine Manor, re- ported that someone broke out a kitchen window of her apartment and took a large Kenmore microwave oven valued at $250. WRECKS JANUARY 19 A 1973 Ford being backed by Henry C. White, of Blacksburg, SC, struck a 1980 parked Mazda operated by Carrie Leigh Moss, 709 Meadowbrook Rd., in the Winn-Dixie parking lot. Damages were estimated by Ptl. J. H. Tessneer at $250. A 1989 GMC station wagon being backed by Kathy Jean Ledford, 138 Old Home Place, struck a 1992 Toyota in the parking lot of the Kings Mountain Post Office. Ptl. J. H. Tessneer estimated damages at $400. Two vehicles bumped in the parking lot of Carolina Federal Bank. Ptl. J. H. Tessneer said the drivers were Elizabeth Millard, of Grover, operating a 1990 Honda that was damaged $25.00, and Patricia Davis Russell, 508 Crescent Hill Rd., operating a 1987 Cadillac that was damaged $100. Cars operated by Warren Monroe Dean Jr, of Laurinburg, and Roxanne Causby Wright, 121710 S. Battleground Ave., hit at the light at York Road and East Gold Street doing a total of $6,000 damage, according to Pil. J. H. Tessneer. Two people in the vehicles were treated at the hospital for injuries. Dean was driving a 1984 Chevrolet and Wright was driving a 1987 Ford. ; JANUARY 20 James Preston Carrigan, Jr., 823 First St., told officer W. P. Fredell that he swerved his 1989 Chevrolet truck to miss a manhole at the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and East Ridge Street and damaged his car $150. JANUARY 21 A 1991 Mazda operated by Evelyn Delois Roberts, 119 Tin Mine Rd., was struck by a hit and run driver at King Street and York Road. Damages were estimated by Ptl. T. B. Fletcher at $25. A 1974 Chevrolet truck operated by Jimmy Sisk, 315 Carolina St., Blacksburg,SC, backed into a parked vehicle at Community Grocery. The 1988 Mazda truck belonging to Buddy Barnette, 144 Hickam Drive, was dam- aged $200. Sgt. Derek Johnson investi- gated. A 1992 Ford operated by Zay Harold Jones, Stokesdale, backed from a parking space at Comfort Inn and hit a parked 1984 Cadillac belonging to Martha Freeman McGill, 405 E. Parker Street. The Ford, owned by Southern National Leasing of Charlotte, was damaged $500. Ptl. Melvin Proctor in- vestigated. Ptl. J. H. Tessneer charged Alexander Steven Messer, 141 Cedar St., Gastonia, with DWI and stop light violation after a wreck at King Street a 1977 Chevrolet operated by Elmer Clayton Hannah, 914 Grover Rd.
