Commissioner of Agriculture Jim Graham presents a certificate to Glenn Hicks, representing Bethware Progressive Club's Bethware Fair. The Fair met all the requirements of the N.C. Department of Agriculture as an agricultural fair. Bethware Fair recognized The 1992 Bethware Progressive Fair has been recognized for meet- ing all of the requirements of the North Carolina Department of Agriculture as an Agricultural Fair. The certificate was presented by North Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture Jim Graham to Glenn Hicks, representing the fair, at the 60th annual convention of the North Carolina Association of Agricultural Fairs in Greensboro last week. During the three-day conven- tion, fair managers, directors, offi- cers and employees received in- service training and participated in the associate members’ annual trade show. The convention marked the first joint meeting of the North and South Carolina Associations of Agricultural Fairs. The members of both associations have voted to hold another joint convention in North Carolina early next year. The object of the NCAOAF is to promote the interest in North Carolina agricultural fairs. Members include 50 fairs and over 80 associate members who serve the fair industry. Milton G. Ingram, manager of the Wayne County Agricultural Fair in Goldsboro, was elected to a one-year term as president of the NCAOAF during the closing busi- ness session.
