Three teams tied
in bowling league
The second half race in the
Thursday night Mixed Duckpin
Bowling League is getting excit-
ing.
After Thursday night's action at
Dilling Heating, three of the four
teams are tied for first place with
10-6 records.
TarPack, which swept previous
leader Alley Cats four games to ze-
ro, now shares the lead with the
Cats and the Naggers, who won
three of four from John's Flufs. The
leaders have 10-6 records and the
Rlufs are 2-14.
Tommy Barrett's 139 line and
384 set led the TarPack assault, but
he got plenty of help from Robert
Hullender with a 126-336 and Dan
Dilling with a 106-302. Allen
Myers had a 132-357 and Johnny
Jones a 114-304 for the Cats.
Bill Myers rolled a 111 line and
321 set, Jack Barrett had a 110-315
and Sally Grant added a 107-305 to
lead the Naggers over the Flufs.
John Caveny of the Flufs was the
top scorer for the match with a 130
line and 375 set.
opening round last year.
The Mountaineers will enter the
Individual State Tournament next
week. Moffitt's men have won the
Western Regionals three vears in a
row and had eight men to qualify
for the state finals last year.
Robbie Ruff became the
Mountaineers’ all-time winning
wrestler Tuesday night by winning
two more matches to run his career
victory total to 97. He broke the
old mark of 95 held by last year's
state heavyweight champion, Tony
Young. Ruff could become the first
Kings Mountain wrestler to go
over the 100-victory mark.
