COURT OF HONOR - Boy Scouts in Troop 91 held a Court of Honor Monday night at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church as a high- light of Boy Scout Week activities in Kings Mountain. The participating school board members received messages from Representatives Robert Andrews (D-NJ) and Newt Gingrich (R-GA) on critical issues in education fac- ing the 103rd Congress. Additionally, political analyst Charles Cook discussed implica- tions for education given the struc: ture and agenda of the new admin- istration. Congressional awards were presented to Senators Robert Byrd (D-WV), Jim Sasser, D-TN) and Howard Metzenbaum (D-OH), and Representatives William D. Ford (D-MI) and John Conyers (D- MI) for their leadership and sup- port of public education.
