Delicious refreshments in a Valentine theme were served. Mrs. Tom Trott, president, opened the meeting with the read- ing of the Club Collect. She intro- duced Mrs. Claude Hambright who presented the program, "Blooming Blues." Mrs. Hambright gave an intro- duction to blue flowers. She showed the picture of a bluc rose named "Blue Girl Rose" that is very fragrant and may be ordered Helms, Peppers on Dean's List Karen Michelle Helms, of 4834 Barrett Rd., and Gerald Derand Peppers of 516 Oak Grove Rd., are among ninc students from Cleveland County and among 766 students named to the Dean's list for the fall semester at Western Carolina University. Tucker new general manager at Donald Donald Ford of Cherryville has a new general manager who is fo- cused on making the local Ford dealership an active part of the community. Brad Tucker took over the helm of Donald Ford en Feb:«1, and has “spent his first days on the job meet- ing the folks of Cherryville and learning all he can about the area. "Our first responsibility in ser- vice 1s to the people of Cherryville," said Tucker. "We want to be an active part of the community and I'm real pleased with the staff we have here. "I have two goals to achieve. One is to do everything we can to satisfy our customers. Two is to create an environment in our store where our people will feel good about coming to work and our cus- tomers will feel good about coming there." A native of New York state, Tucker moved with his family and grew up in Winston-Salem some 20 years ago. He prefers life in the south and says he has“no desire" | to go back ‘north. Tucker holds a degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A veteran salesman, Tucker has been in the automobile business for 10 years. He comes to Cherryville from Statesville where he was as- sociated with a dealership. He and his wife, Vera, are parents of two sons, Christopher, 5, and Nicholas, 3-1/2. They plan to relocate to Cherryville as soon as possible. "Cherryville is the reason for our BRAD TUCKER store's existence. We plan to do ex- tra things for our customers to make doing business with us as easy as possible. Our customers can expect high service and low prices," said Tucker. Mr. and Mrs. CCC selected Winners of the recently held 1993-94 Mr. and Ms. Cleveland Community College Pageant, sponsored by the Student Government Association, were Ron Teague and Susan Price. Teague, a Pre-Education major, is president of the Student Government Association, vice chair of the North Carolina Western Division = Student Government Association, treasurer of Cleveland's Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society, state president of GBP, and one of only four students po RH so ol \ 1 Hill's Pre-Med s. Cleveland Community College 1993-94 is Susan Price, a Pre- in the U.S. to serve on the national executive committee of GBP. After graduation from Cleveland, Teague will transfer to UNCC to work on a B.S. Ed, with a concentration in Math. His ultimate plans are to teach in the community college set- ting. The goal of Price, a Pre-Science major and SGA representative, is to become a medical doctor, spe- cializing in Emergency Medicine. After graduation from Cleveland, she plans to enroll in UNC-Chapel Program. Duke 2 » al Science major who eventually plans to be a medical doctor. Mr. CCC is Ron Teague, a Pre-Education major whose future plans include teach- ing math in a community college setting. University is her choice of medical colleges.
