AISE is also seeking American high school students ages 15-17 who would like to spend either a school year or a summer abroad. Interested persons should call 1- 800-SIBLING for information. Inauguration Week in the na- tion's capital was exciting for Ginger Blalock, Kings Mountain High School student. Blalock was among 347 high school juniors and seniors who at- tended the first Presidential Classroom Inaugural - Week Program. She took part in America's Reunion on the Mall and witnessed the inauguration of President Clinton. She also cele- brated the occasion with young people at the first America's, Youth Leaders Ball. Blalock also got a look at how government works by attending seminars and meeting with govern- ment leaders and transition offi- cials, learning about the democratic process first hand. Kings Mountain Board of BETHWARE TALENT WINNERS - Education selects three juniors through an interview process and provides a scholarship toward tu- ‘ition costs. Presidential Classroom, in its 24th year, offers nine week-long sessions of the Senor High School Program annually. It is a non-prof- it, non-partisan civic education or- ganization. Speakers delivered prepared re- marks and then took individual stu- dent questions, said Blalock. She said these lively, informed discus- sions addressed some of the most controversial and current issues facing American leadership. Students also attended Crossfire discussions on international, na- tional and local concerns and visit- ed the monuments, memorials and treasures of the capital city.
