Talia Gangoo was presented the Shelby Exchange Youth Citizenship Award from Joe Roberts. The Social Studies Woodmen of the World Award from Lodge 519 was pre- sented by J. D. Champion to Aleen Barron. Calvin Jones won the music award and played a piano rendition. Environmental Awareness awards went to Jamie Eller, Charity Smith and Lashonda Quinn. Richard Payne won the "Someone special" award given in the guidance program. "Special friends"awards were also presented. Volunteers and mentors were recog- nized. School faculty members recognized for special honors were Amy Ross, support person of the year; Melvina Jackson, custodian of the year; Ann Tria, food service employee of the year; Diane Simpson, bus driver of the year; and Richard Rupp, KMMS teach- er of the Year who also won the dis- trict-wide honor recently.
