Page 2A-THE KINGS MOUNTAIN HERALD-Thursday, June 24, 1993 Obituaries DUSTIN RAY PUTNAM Dustin Ray Putnam, age four days, of 308 Countryside Road, Kings Mountain, died June 16, 1993 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. He was the son of Darrell Wayne and Donna Watkins Putnam. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon Ellis of the home; two brothers, Jeremy Wayne Putnam of the home and Joshua Timms of Kings Mountain; and his grandpar- ents, Robert Bergstrom of McPherson, Kansas, and Ted and Helen Watkins of Shelby. He was also the grandson of the late Morris Putnam, the late Barbara Bergstrom, and the late Sharon Watkins. A graveside service was con- ducted by the Rev. Keith Love Saturday at 2 p.m. at Oak View Baptist Church cemetery. JANIE C. MARTIN Janie Cunningham Martin, 67, of 247 Battleground Road, Kings Mountain, died June 16, 1993 at her home. A native of Sylva, she was the daughter of Sadie Parris Crawley and the late Leslie Cunningham. She was a retired textile employee and a member of Second Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Elbert "Eb" Martin; a brother, Horace Cunningham of Kings Mountain; and two sisters, Jonell Hambright of Kings Mountain and Helen Wood of Spartanburg, S.C. A graveside service was con- ducted by the Rev. Eugene Land Friday at 3 p.m. at Mountain Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 201 W. Marion St., Shelby, 28150. AUSTIN A. LACKEY FALLSTON - Austin Alexander Lackey Jr., 65 of 1013 E. Stage Coach Trail, died June 16, 1993 at his home. A native of Fallston, he was the son of Willie Mae Cline Jones and the late Dr. Austin A. Lackey Sr. His wife was the late Lenora Plonk Lackey. He was employed as a foreman at Pittsburgh Plate Glass. He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He is also survived by a son, Robert Lackey of Atlanta; a daughter, Libby L. Powell of Polkville; and two grandchildren, April Powell and Stephanie Powell. The funeral was conducted by the Revs. Erman Bradley and Doug Love Friday at 4 p.m. at Friendship United Methodist Church. Burial was in Rose Hill Memorial Park. JENNY WILSON Virginia "Jenny" Burch Wilson, 71, of 308 Silver Street, Kings Mountain, dicd Junc 18, 1993 at Kings Mountain Hospital. A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Van B. and Hulda Lewis Burch. She was a homemaker and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Charles W. Wilson; two sons, Steve Wilson and Ronnie Wilson of Kings Mountain; two daughters, Susan Blanton of Blacksburg, Va. and Patti Barnette of Kings Mountain; two sisters, Mildred Southers and Helen Ewing of Belmont; and seven grandchildren. The funeral was conducted by the Revs. David Philbeck and James Hamrick Sunday at 3 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. H.K. DIXON H.K. Dixon, 75, of 200 Dixon Dairy Road, Kings Mountain, died June 18, 1993 at Kings Mountain Hospital. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Curtis and Addie Wylie Dixon. He was a retired farmer and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and Fairview Masonic Lodge #3309. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Bookout Dixon; a son, Donald Dixon of Kings Mountain; a daughter, Dianne Senn of Charlotte. a sister, Elzie Hardin of Greenville, S.C.; and two grand- children, Keith Dixon of Kings Mountain and Jon Senn of Charlotte. The funeral was conducted by the Revs. Harold Beam and Russell Fitts Sunday at 3 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. M.B. HANNON M.B. Hannon, 70, of 107 Marigold Street, Kings Mountain, died June 22, 1993 at his home. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Merida Boyce and Delmont Moye Hannon Sr. He was a retired textile employ- ee. The family received friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. Clifton E. Morgan Jr. Thursday at 11 a.m. at Mountain Rest Cemetery. BRENDA LEE GOFORTH SHELBY - Brenda Lee Goforth, 29, of 1008 Gumm St., died June 21,1993. A native of Cleveland County, she was a homemaker and the daughter of Linda Lawson. She at- tended Cleveland Community College, Bethel Baptist Church in Shelby and Peoples Church in Kings Mountain. Surviving, in addition to her mother, are two daughters, Tabctha Goforth and Jeanette Goforth of the home; one brother, David Lawson of Shelby; and two sisters, Tina Lawson and Renee Jordan of Kings Mountain. The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. at Sisk-Butler Funcral Home in Bessemer City by Rev. John Houze and Rev. Ray Lamb. The family will receive at the funeral home from 1-3 p.m. Burial will be in Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain. MARY C.
