Page 2A-THE KINGS MOUNTAIN HERALD-Thursday, July 29, 1993 ALISA DANIELLE ADKINS Alisa Daniclle Adkins, onc- month-old daughter of James Daniel and Lisa Biddix Adkins of Lakeland, Ohio, died July 22, 1993 at the home of her grandmother at Route: 3, : Box © 552, "Kings Mountain. Alisa was born June 20, 1993 in Portsmouth, Ohio. In addition to to her parents, she is survived by her maternal grand- parcnts, Isaac and Faye Bell of Kings Mountain; paternal grand- mother, Ruth Adkins of Lathan, Ohio; three brothers, Jeffery Waters and Brandon Waters of Kings Mountain and James Adkins of Lakeland, Ohio; and a sister, Chasity Burns of Kings Mountain. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Don Biddix and Les Adkins. A graveside service was held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Mount Beulah Baptist Church in Cherryville. CHARLES J. JORDAN Charles Joseph Jordan, 69, of 4- B Battleforest Apartments, Kings Mountain, died July 22, 1993 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. A native of Jersey City, N.J., he was the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Kelly Jordan. He was a retired salesman and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Gastonia. He is survived by his wife, Remedios Weber Jordan; two sons, Michael Jordan of Fairview, N.J., and Joseph Jordan of Rutherford, N.J.; two daughters, Jennifer Royal of Passaic Park, N.J., and Mary Flood of Sussex, N.J.; and five grandchildren. The funeral was conducted by Father George Kloster Saturday at: 11 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. ODELL A. NORWOOD Odell. Alfred Norwood, 65, of 309 Silver Street, Kings Mountain, died July 22, 1993 at Kings Mountain Hospital. A native of Gaston County, he was the son of the late Roy A. and Katrina McGinnis Norwood. He was employed as a hosiery mill mechanic and was a member of Central United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Jewell "Judy" Norwood; two sons, Roy A. Norwood of Seneca, S.C., and Michael O. Norwood of Kings Mountain; and three grandchildren. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. George Auman Sunday at 3 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, South Piedmont Avenue, Kings Mountain, N.C. 28086. FRANCES JACKSON Frances Mitilda Jackson, 63, of 4006 Chestnut Wood Drive, Kings Mountain, died July 21, 1993 at Kings Mountain Hospital. A native of Kings Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Beatrice Black. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by her husband, Frank Jackson of Kings Mountain; her father, Theo Peterson of San Diego, California; a son, Johnny M. Jackson of Kings Mountain; a daughter, Rhonda J. Hall of Kings Mountain; four brothers, Albert Peterson and Jerry Peterson of Hickory, William Peterson of Hendersonville, and Harold Peterson of Kings Mountain; two sisters, Catherine Whiteside of Joliet, Ill., and Margie Palmer of Norcross, Ga.; a half-sister, Susan Peterson of San Diego, California; and three grandchildren. The funeral was conducted by the Revs. Robert D. Pulkkinen and Scott Wade Saturday at 11 a.m. at First Church of the Nazarene. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. School facilities getting face lift School faculties are virtually complete for the fall opening of Kings Mountain District Schools August 16. Supt. Dr. Bob McRae said that faculties will return after summer vacation on August 9. Paving crews began laying as- phalt Wednesday for the parking arcas at the high school and the road leading from the stadium parking arca behind the middle school to the bascball ficld. Supt. Dr. Bob McRae said that the gymnasium floor at the high school has been refinished this summer and new bleachers arc on order and will be installed after school opens.
