North Carolina State Trooper K.H. Williams said Mary Pryor Taylor. 47. of 204 S. Goforth St.. a former English teacher at Kings Mountain High School. was pro- nounced dead at the scene of the crash between the 1993 Subaru Robert L. "Bob" Taylor was driv- ing and a parked 1989 Kenworth tractor truck owned by Ryder Truck Rental of Greensboro which officers said was legally parked on the paved right shoulder of I-85. According to the report the Taylor car swerved slightly left to- ward the median barrier, then swerved abruptly to the right and ran off the right side of the travel lane onto the paved shoulder of I- 85. Taylor attempted to veer back onto the travel lane and struck the parked truck. The trooper said an air bag was activated on the driver's side of the vehicle. Mr. Taylor was taken to Carolinas KM teacher killed in car wreck Medical Center for treatment of in- juries. Mis. Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:16 p.m. by Mecklenburg County emergency medical technician Brian Watts. Mrs. Taylor was employed as Media Specialist at Burns High School’ and before that was em- ployed at Washington Elementary School in Waco. She was a native of Atlanta, GA and was the daughter of the late John T. and Rebecca Kidd Pryor. She was a graduate of the Obituaries WARREN E. REYNOLDS Warren E. Reynolds, 80, of 206 Victoria Circle, died October 1, 1993 at Crawley Memorial Hospital in Boiling Springs. A native of Cleveland County, he was a retired realtor. He was the son of the late Walter and Callie Long Reynolds. ’ He was a member of the Kings Mountain Realtors Association, a member of American Legion Post 155, and a World War II Army vet- eran. Surviving are one son, Paul Reynolds of Kings Mountain; one daughter, Peggy Reynolds Levengood of Charlotte; one sister, Martha McConnell of Kings Mountain; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A daugh- ter, Linda Reynolds Champion, died in 1984. The funeral was conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at East Kings Mountain Church of God. Rev. John Heath and Rev. Eugene Land officiated. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. GENEVA CROSBY Geneva May Oates Crosby, 78, of 315 Wilson Terrace, died September 30, 1993 at Kings Mountain Hospital. A Cleveland County native, she was a retired laundry employee and was a former member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Surviving are one brother, Summie Oates of Kings Mountain; and two sisters, Beatrice Oates and Inez Fowler, both of Kings Mountain. The funeral was conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Rev. D. C. Wilson, Rev. S. A. Raper, Rev. Calvin Miller and Rev. James McClain of- ficiated. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. CHARLES SMITH Charles Douglas Smith, 31, of 331 Ebenezer Road, died September 25, 1993 at Charlotte Presbyterian Hospital. He was employed at Presbyterian Hospital. Survivors include his father and stepmother, Charles and Wenella Smith of the home; paternal grand- parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charleston Smith of Kings Mountain; one brother, Larry Smith Shakir of Charlotte; one sister, Diana Brooks of Kings Mountain; and two step- sisters, Teralyne Fowler and Angel Fowler of Kings Mountain.
