Open house will begin at 6 p.m., and as you tour the library and browse through its resources, top by the discard collection in the Electronic Media Room and choose five free books for your personal collection. A wide assort- ment of books will be available, in- cluding paperbacks, hardbacks, fic- tion and nonfiction. They have been fashioned through the cen- turies in different shapes and sizes and have seen an awakening of in- terest in the latter half of this cen- tury. Hanneman's splendid instru- ment was made for him in 1983 by Peter Tkach of St. Louis, who fol- lowed the design of a still-operable antique at the Smithsonian, made in 1745 by Johannes Dulcken of Antwerp, now in Belgium.
