Kings Mountain scored 127 point to 102 for East, 47 for Chase and 16 for North Gaston. In girls action, East Rutherford won with 131 points, followed by KM 88, Chase 62 and North Gaston 25. JV Mountaineers win sixth against Mooresville Kings Mountain High's JV boys got hot in the second half and rolled over Mooresville 75-65 in non-conference action Tuesday af- ternoon at the KMHS gym. Mooresville grabbed an early lead by slowing the tempo, but the Mountaineers came out gunning and dominating the boards in the second half. Justin Champion led the KM ef- fort with 14 points and 12 re- bounds. Desmond Holland scored 12 points, Jason Wade 11, C.C. Smith 10 and Marcus Smith and Cameron Falls eight each. "They came out and played a zone pretty much the whole time," said Coach Ronny Funderburke. "Their game plan was to get us to play their game and they did that in the first half. But we came out in the second half and played with in- tensity and got some turnovers and . transition baskets, and that was the difference in the game."
