Students in Mrs. Ann Bennett's Exploring Life Skills classes enter-
tained their teachers at a recent Christmas gathering. Each class made
personal invitations, Victorian Christmas fans and desserts for their
teaches. Students showed social skills as they entertained their guest.

Thornburg selected Student of Month
Carrie April Thornburg, Kings
Mountain High School senior, is
Exchange Club of Shelby's Youth
of the Month for January.
She is the daughter of Walter
Thornburg and Mr. and Mrs. Ervin
Lineberger.
At KMHS, Thornburg is editor
of the annual staff, lettered in
cheerleading four years, and is ac-
tive in the Beta Club. She has also
been active in Future Homemakers
of America, Future Business
Leaders of America, Fellowship of
Christian Athletes, Key Club,
French Club, Letterman's Club and
Science Club.
A member of First Baptist
Church, she is active in the church
youth group. Her special interests
are modeling and physical fitness
at gym. She volunteers as a Candy
Striper at Kings Mountain Hospital
and in the Physical Therapy
Department of the local hospital.
She is employed at Eckerd Drug
Company ‘and works in the family

KENNETH WILSON ENLISTS IN AIR FORCE
Kenneth L. Wilson, son of
Patricia and Mickey Powers of
Kings Mountain, recently enlisted
into the Air Force's Delayed
Enlistment Program, according to
T/Sgt. Stewart, the local Air Force
recruiter.
Wilson, who will be a 1994
graduate of Kings Mountain High
School, is scheduled for enlistment
into the regular Air Force. Upon
graduation from the Air Force's six
week basic training course at
Lackland Air Force Base near San
Antonio, Texas, he will receive
technical training in his designated
career area.
Wilson will earn credits toward
an Associate Degree in Applied
Sciences through the Community
College of the Air Force while at-
tending basic and technical training
schools.
