PAINTER Lela Ledbetter Painter, 88, of 109 Ganley St., died Tuesday in the Kings Mountain Hospital. Widow of the Rev. James Lee Painter, she was the daughter of the late Grover and Dovie Heavner Painter. She was a retired textile’ employee and a member of New Camp Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, J. D. Painter of Kings Mountain and Harold Painter of Grover; two daughters, Faye Hughes of Kings Mountain and Dorothy Moore of Kings Mountain; one brother, Nelson Ledbetter of Kings Mountain; one sister, Pauline Champion of Waco; 16 grandchil- dren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 30 great-great grandchildren.
