Midgette makes move in duckpin bowling loop Mark Midgette moved to within four games of first place in Mixed Duckpin Bowling League action Tuesday night at Dilling Heating. While Midgette (15-13) was sweeping John Dilling g (8-20), first place R.W. Hullender (19-9) was splitting a four-game set with Jack Barrett (14-14). Midgette was high scorer for the night, bowling a 147 line and 398 set as his team swept Dilling by al- most a hundred pins. Dilling led his group with'a 115-318. Trene Ruley bowled her season's best 131 line and Jack Barrett added a 316 set'to lead Barrett's split with R.W. Hullender. Hullender led his group with a 123 line and 338 set and Chuck Ruley added a 121-308. Gold Diggers lead by three The Gold Diggers opened a three-game lead in Mixed Duckpin Bowling League actin Thursday night at Dilling Heating by win- ning three of four games from the second place Tar Heels. The Gold Diggers (21-11) got a 143 line and 333 set from Allen Myers, while Johnny Jones added a 110-303. Bob Rathbone led the Tar Heels (19-14) with a 100 line and 273 set. In another match, the Night Crawlers took over third place by winning three of four from the Four Packers. R.W. Hullender of the Night Crawlers (13-19) led all scorers with a 179 line and 422 set, and Chuck Ruley added a 110- 308. Brown moves to Durham Regina Y. Brown, a 1987 gradu- ate of Kings Mountain High School, has relocated to Durham. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a concentra- tion in Computer Information Systems, from Western Carolina University in May 1992. She is working in Research Triangle Park at Martin Marietta Technical Services Inc. She is a Junior tech- nical coordinator specialist, sup- porting computer software and hardware for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cleveland and Nancy Brown of Kings Mountain, and the grand- daughter of Ms. Loray Leslie of Kings Mountain and Ms. Lonia O.V. Patterson of Gastonia. Ladies plan golf awards The Ladies Association of Kings Mountain Country Club will spon- sor the annual Spring Awards Banquet and Fashion Show Tuesday, March 8, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Country Club. Tickets are on sale for $12 at the Pro Shop, 739-5871. Deadline for reservations in March 4 at 5 p.m. McNeely's, Loy's Men Shop and Jenny-Lain's Children's Shoppe will furnish models and fashions for a spring show after the buffet dinner. An awards program and business meeting will close the an- nual banquet to be catered by "Just Us." Mary Leigh Broadwell said yearly dues are $10.
