A native of Cleveland County, she was a homemaker and daughter of the late Clarence Thomas and Mattie Blanton Dixon. She was twice married: to the late David McDaniel and to Gaither Hoyle of Gastonia, who survives. She was a member of Second Baptist Church. Also surviving are one son, Tom McDaniel of Rock Hill, SC; one daughter, Doris Plyler of Gastonia; one brother, C.T. Dixon Jr. of Kings Mountain; one sister, Pearl Kiser # Kings Mountain; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchil- dren and one great-great grand- child. The funeral was conducted Monday at'4 p.m. at Second Baptist Church. Rey. Eugene Land and Rev. Rammy Lybrand officiat- ed. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. MAEBELL TOTHEROW ROCK HILL, SC - Maebell Roach Totherow, 79, 4 Graham St., died March 22, 1994 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. A native of Rock Hill, she was widow. of Richard C. Totherow Sr. and daughter of the late Rufus Alexander and Carrie Yandle Roach. She was retired from J. P. Stevens after 50 years of service and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church! Surviving are two sons, Richard + C. Totherow Jr. of Rock Hill and Jerry Totherow of Hilton Head, SC; three daughters, Joyce Rollins and Lucille Boatwright, both of CUSTOMER SATISFACTION GUARANTEED! FLORENCE ROSS Florence Childers Ross, 80, of 212-A Dixon School Rd., died March 22, 1994 at Upstate Medical Center in Gaffney, SC. She is survived by nieces and nephews. The funeral was conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at Vestibule AME Zion Church with the Rev. Cornelius Bell officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. ROBERT D. HARDIN CHARLOTTE - Robert Dewey Hardin, 77, of 13309 Zoar Road, died March 28, 1994 at Mercy South Emergency in Pineville. A native of Cherokee County, SC, he was the son of the late Robert Curtis and Ella Clark Hardin. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church in Rock Hill, SC. He is survived by his wife, Jessie Currence Hardin of the home; two daughters, Kitty West of Fort Mill, SC and Barbara A. Gunter of Wilmington; one step- daughter, Louise Kahn of Costa Mesa, CA; two brothers, Jack Hardin and Ben Hardin of Spartanburg, SC; three grandchil- dren; six step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and seven step- great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Claude Kayler Thursday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Greene Funeral Home. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park. WILLEEN H. TROUT SPARTANBURG, SC - Willeen H. Trout, 88, of 299 Old Petrie Rd., a resident of Camp Care, died March 28, 1994. A native of Spartanburg County, she was the widow of Joseph Stuart Trout Sr. and daughter of the late William Brazell and Mary Jane Burgess Holder. She was a member of Ben Avon United Methodist Church and a homemaker. She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star Lodge 175, Glendale. Surviving are two sons, Joe S. Trout Jr. of Spartanburg and Guy C. Trout of Kings Mountain; two grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral was conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. at J. F. Floyd Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Boyce Franklin Brooks officiated. Order of The Eastern Star rites followed the funeral service. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Hospice to build in-patient beds Hospice of Cleveland County has received the Certificate of Need to build the Resident and In- Patient beds in their new facility to be built on Joe Road. The Certificate of Need comes from the State Office of The Division of Facility Services which determines the nee these beds and the number ‘needed in the county. The new Hospice facility is scheduled to begin building in 1994 and now reports a total of over $800,000 in pledges toward the $1.2 million needed in order to begin construction. The Capital Campaign current underway has started another divi- sion of volunteers who are calling on individuals and businesses in the area to make a three-year pledge toward the goal.
