A native of Cleveland County, she was the widow of Willie Grice and daughter of the late Lee and Mandy Dellinger Randall. She was a retired employee of Sadie Mill. Surviving are one daughter, Guin Watts of Kings Mountain; one brother. Ivey Randall of Kings Mountain; one grandchild; and six great-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted Wednesday at 4 p.m. at St.Matthew's Lutheran Church. Rev. John Futterer officiated. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. OVEIDA DIXON Oveida Dixon, 75, of Greenfield Manor in Gastonia, died April 11, 1994 at Greenfield Manor. A native of Cleveland County, she was daughter of the late William Ernest and Dessie Stewart Dixon. She was a retired textile employee and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Surviving are two brothers, Boyce Dixon of Mount Holly and Robert Dixon of Charlotte; and one sister, Mrs. Sudie Mae Fortenberry of Grover. The funeral was conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Rev. Harold Beam officiated. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery. BOBBIE JEAN WELLS Bobbie Jean Wells, 6, of 503 W. Mountain St., died April 7, 1994 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. A native of Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of Bobby Michael and Shirley Carroll Wells of Kings Mountain. Surviving, in addition to the par- ents, are three brothers, Michael Holliday and Stephen Holliday, both of Williamston, SC and Jason Wells of Bessemer City; one sister, Nicci Jones of Kings Mountain; her grandparents, Rev. Bob and Betty Wells of Bessemer City and her great-grandmother, Mary Smith of High Point. She was also the granddaughter of the late Charles Lewis and Opal Lingerfelt Carroll." The. Spal was conducted Suntay"at'2 p.m. at Second Baptist Church by Rev. Eugene Land, as- sisted by Bobbie Jean's uncle, Rev. Dennis Wells. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. VIRGINIA H. LEWIS BESSEMER CITY - Virginia Hamilton Lewis, of Lewis Circle, died April 9, 1994 at her home. A native of Marshville, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Lillie Sinclair Hamilton, and wife of the late Robert L. Lewis. She was a homemaker and a member of Kings Mountain Baptist Church. She was a charter member of the Bessemer City Garden Club. She is survived by a stepson, George Lewis of Bessemer City; a stepdaughter, Lillian L. Rhyne of Dallas; a number of nieces and nephews; and 16 grandchildren. The funeral was conducted by the. Rev. J.C. Goare Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Kings Mountain Baptist Church, Burial was in Lutheran Chapel Cemetery. CHAPMAN Boyd Eugene Chapman, 65, of 1251 Phifer Road, Kings Mountain, died April 12, 1994 at Cleveland Memorial Hospital. A native of Shelby, he was the son of the late John Jackson and Addie Cook Chapman. His first wife was the late Aileen Davis Chapman. He was employed as a shipping supervisor with Shelby Elastics. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Second Baptist Church and the Bill Davis Sunday School Class, and was a Mason, Shriner and member of the Eastern Star. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Grigg Chapman; a daugh- ter, Cindy Wallace of Shelby; a stepson, Danny Lovelace of Kings Mountain; two sisters, Jeanelle Jones and Nadine Allen of Shelby; and two grandchildren, Emily and Jay Wallace of Shelby. The funeral will be conducted by the Revs. Eugene Land and Dan Wallace Thursday at 3 p.m. at Second Baptist Church. Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fallston. CHAMPION CHERRYVILLE - Geneva Price Champion, 75, of Cherry Oaks Rest Home, died April 12, 1994 at Cleveland Memorial Hospital. A native of Gaffney, SC, she was the wife of the late Forrest Champion. She was a retired tex- tile worker. She is survived by three sons, Andy Champion of Bessemer City, Jerry Champion of Gastonia and Richard Champion of Vale; a daughter, Sandra C. Monroe of Kings Mountain; a brother, Richard Price of Kings Mountain; six grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted by the Revs. Max Clark and Earl Combs Thursday at 2 p.m. at First Assembly of God in Shelby. Burial will be in Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. BARBARA H. PATTERSON SHELBY . - Barbara (H. "Tommie" Patterson, 60, of 2002 Robyn Avenue, died April 11, 1994 at her home. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Johnny and Evelyn William Hutchins, and wife of the late Thomas A. Patterson. She was re- tired from Hoechst Celanese and was a member of Landmark Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Joe Self and Angie and Philip Blanton, all of Kings Mountain; a brother, Johnny Hutchins Jr. of the home; three sisters, Jean Morrison of Shelby, Brenda Smith and husband Eddie of the home, and Peggy Darnell and husband Ted of Kings Mountain; and five grandchildren, Ashley and Erica Self and Johnathan, Alan and Chris Blanton. The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Alan Davis Thursday at 2 p.m. at Landmark Baptist Church. The body will lie in state 30 min- utes prior to the service. Seniors open The Kings Mountain Senior Center opened its new gift shop in one of the red cabooses at the Center on Tuesday, April 5. The gift shop will be called the Whistlestop Boutique. The name was selected from many names submitted in a contest last month. Mrs. Barbara Coxen sent in the winning name and will be awarded a $20 gift certificate to the gift shop. The Whistlestop Boutique will be open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. with the exception of the first Wednesday of every month.
