Events Planned for Senior Citizens Cleveland County Council on Aging has arranged special events this week and next. Senior citizens 60 and older are invited to take their favorite garden flowers to the Senior Center, 408 E. Marion St., Shelby, for a contest Thursday at 11 a.m. Prizes will be awarded for largest bloom, most unusual color, prettiest fresh cut ar- rangement, and prettiest blooming house plant. A Gay Nineties covered dish luncheon will feature the Friday noon meeting at the Senior Center in Shelby. Residents 90 years of age and older will be special guests. A Super Sunday fun walk is planned for Sunday and will high- light a fitness festival in the park- ing lot of the Shelby Senior Center. Refreshments, prizes, music and games will feature the event from 1:30-4 p.m. ‘A cake walk, billiards, ping pong, a puppet show, mime, and Mother Goose booths for chil- dren will feature the event, open to the public. Agencies including Council on Aging, Life Enrichment Center, Live, Kings Mountain Senior Center and Foster Grandparents program will have special exhibits. Garden Club has luncheon meeting Town and Country Garden Club met May 12 at Heritage House Cafeteria for the final meeting be- fore summer break.
