Det. Sgt. Billy Benton of the Detective Division of the Kings Mountain Police Department and state narcotics agent Don Allen seized 88 pounds of marijuana and charged Carl Edward "Rat" Price. 45. of 504 Monroe Ave.. with traf- ficking in marijuana. Benton said street sale of the drugs would be estimated at $85.000. Benton said that Price is alleged- ly involved in a conspiracy to traf- fick involving 400 pounds of marijuana. : Charges are pending against a second Kings Mountain man. Crack confiscated Kings Mountain police, armed with a search warrant, confiscated over 100 pieces of crack cocaine from a bedroom of 201 Orr Terrace May 11, according to Det. _ Sgt. Billy Benton of the Detective Division. Benton charged Timothy Eugene Moore. 21, of 201 Orr Terrace, with possession, sale and delivery of crack cocaine. Moore's $1,000 bond was se- cured. Det. Lt. Richard Reynolds, Sgt. Houston Corn, and Sgt. Derek Johnson and members of his crew assisted in the house search. Juvenile aprehended A 14-year-old boy whom police say nobody apparently wanted will be turned over to juvenile authori- ties for shoplifting. Police Chief Warren Goforth said that he apprehended the 14- year-old boy in the parking lot of AAA Sports after the boy allegedly took a size 44 shirt from SageSport. Goforth said he checked with Kings Mountain Middle School of- ficials and learned the boy had been absent from school since Wednesday. Captain Bob Hayes took the boy to his home but his parents de- clined to take responsibility and said they preferred he be placed in a juvenile training school. « ‘Police were working with juve- nile authorities Monday on the case. 3 CL robbery charged Lawrence Junior Cobb, 47, of 620 E. Gold St., faces a felony charge of common law robbery af- ter an incident Sunday. His $5,000 bond was secured. Police said that a man allegedly grabbed $4 from a child on Gold Street and ran but was apprehended on Goforth Street by the father of a five-year-old Bessemer City girl. The suspect was held at the scene until police arrived, accord- ing to Det. Lt. Richard Reynolds. Police stand-by Kings Mountain police stood by Friday at West School at the re- quest of school officials who sus- pected a parent coming to pick up her children could become upset when told that the Department of Social Services was coming for them. Det. Lt. Richard Reynolds said no weapons were involved and the woman agreed to go to the Cleveland County Department of Mental Health for a check-up.
