to- ng ist- ool a Thursday May 19, 1994 Bands present spring concert The Kings Mountain Middle School seventh and eighth grade bands, and the Kings Mountain High School ninth grade and Blazer bands presented their annual spring concert to a packed house Thursday night at B.N. Barnes Auditorium. Band directors Christopher H. Cole and Gil R. Doggett directed, assisted by student assistant Bryon A. Graeber. The seventh grade band played Pleyel's Hymn, Michael Row the Boat Ashore, and Village Charm. The eighth grade band performed Simple Gifts, Blue Ridge Overture and Jazz Cat. The ninth grade band played Prime Time Marches which included the theme songs from Major Dad and Coach, Kentucky 1800, and Instant Concert. The Blazer Band performed the Theme from Jurassic Park, Them Basses March, Cartoon Express, Gathering of the Yeomen, Top Gun, and Song for the Young. Cartoon Express included Merrily We Roll (| Along, Tiny Toon Adventures Theme Song, I'm Popeye the Sailor Man, The Pink Panther, The Merry- Go-Round Broke Down, and This Is It! The Top Gun Medley included Top Gun Anthem, Take My Breath Away, Danger Zone and Mighty Wings. The Song for the Young was dedicated to the 1994 seniors: Marcus Adams, Ted Anderson, Tonnia Barnett, Laura Bell, Jayda Biddix, Micki Black, Amanda Blanton, Mark Blanton, Melanie Bumgardner, Brandi Byers, Jermaine Byers, Melissa Dellinger, Leanne Farris, Aaron Ford, Tameron Gaines, Courtney Goforth, Windi Goode, Tiffany Houze, Chris Hutchins, Jennifer Johnson, Allison Kiser, Kim Ledford, Michelle Martin, Cale McDaniel, Trey Mcintyre, Scott Morrison, Larry Neal, Josh Newton, Janey Ollis, Nicole Patterson, Holly Paul, Elizabeth Perkins, Stephanie Phillips, Brandon Putnam, Jim Putnam, Christy Robbs, Tracy Robertson, Molly Subler, Sha VanDyke, Keisha Wilson and Stacy Womack. Band officers for 1993-94 were President Tameron Gaines, vice president Jennifer Senter, secretary-trea- surer Jayda Biddix, historian Micki Black and chaplain Jermaine Byers. Recognized for making South Central District All- State Band were Kim Ledford, Saengmani Philavanh, Bethany Jimson, Kim Sparrow, Nikki Gladden, Michael Wilson, Matt Parker, Kyle Tsui, Joe Page, Felicia Davis, Christie Hughes, Greg George, Brandon Putnam and Hiroki Nishyama. Kim Sparrow was recognized as recipient of the Jack B Howren Scholarship, and Joe Page was recog- nized for making the N.C. Honors Band.
