(Charity Anne Williams) Williams-Tolbert Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Len Tolbert, who were wed Saturday, are on a wed- ding trip to Amish Country, Pennsylvania and Colonial Williamsburg: Va. and afterwards will be at home in Shelby. Charity Anne Williams became Tolbert's bride in a 4 p.m. wedding in Patterson Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Richard Plyler, former pastor of the church, was assisted by Rev. Michael Butzberger, pastor of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, in officiating the double-ring ceremony which included the lighting of the Unity candle and a memory candle in honor of deceased grandparents. Jerri Tate was pianist, Kay Grigg was organist, Sara Breedlove was flutist, and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Bumgardner and Brian Miller were soloists for the program of nuptial music. The altar was decorated with candles and banked by Stargazer lilies and white and purple summer flowers. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal gownof white bridal satin designed with a Victorian neckline, leg-of-mut- ton sleeves, a Basque waist and fitted bodice. The bodice and sleeves were appliqued with Sposabella lace, seed pearls and sequins. The full skirt and Cathedral train had matching lace inserts. Satin bows accented the back of the dress and train. A crown veil was accented by Sposabella lace seed pearls and sequins. She carried a cascading bouquet of gardenias, bridal white roses, white pearls and variegated ivy with Italian ruscus foliage. Christa Williams of Durham was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Michelle Tolbert of Shelby, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, Kim Spurr of Cary, Elizabeth Hamrick of Cartersville, Ga., Johnna Wyte and Sharon Blanton of Kings Mountain, Nicole Martin of Carrboro and Tricia Martin of Shelby. All the attendants wore purple satin tea-length formals designed With gathered sleeves and crisscross bodices accented in the back with a pearl one each side. They carried hand-tied bouquets of Stargazer lilies, Casablanca lilies, lisianthus, variegated ivy and Italian ruscus folinge tied with pink French-wired ribbon. Courtney Tate and Crystal Wyte were flower girls. They wore tea- length gowns in a purple, pink and white floral design and carried baskets of flower petals. The bridegroom's father was best man. Groomsmen were C. O. Koon of Shelby, stepfather of the bridegroom, {Kevin Tolbert of Kings Mountain, brother of the bridegroom, Phillip Higginbotham of Shelby, Jason Dover and Ashley Dover of Kings Mountain, Brian Miller of Louisville, Ky. and Steve Koon of] Rutherfordton. Karen Paul of Statesville and Holly Paul of Kings Mountain kept the register. The bride's parents hosted the reception after the ceremony which car- ried out the purple, pink and white theme of the wedding. For a "sentimen- tal" touch, the bride's mother presented the bride with a baby doll she had been given 45 years ago and Louise McSwain dressed the doll in a replica wedding gown of bridal satin. The doll was the centerpiece for the bride's table. The tiered wedding cake was topped with the bride and groom figurine which was atop the wedding cake cut by the bride's parents on their wed- ding in August 1962. The bridegroom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Friday night at Days Inn, Shelby. Johnny and Maxine Williams of Kings Mountain are parents of the bride who is the granddaughter of Julia Williams of Kings Mountain and the late John Williams and Gladys Hamrick of Kings Mountain and the late Ben Hamrick. A 1988 graduate of Kings Mountain High School, she is a 1992 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a bachelor's degree in Biology. She is employed by Barre National Inc. The bridegroom is the son of Norma and C. O. Koon of Shelby and Steve and Gaye Tolbert of Shelby. He is the grandson of Margaret Tolbert of Shelby and the late C. T. Tolbert and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Martin. He is the step-grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Odell Koon of Batesburg, Ga. and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Phillips of Gray, Ga. A 1988 graduate of Kings Mountain High School, he earned his bachelor's degree in Religious Education from Gardner-Webb University in 1992. He is attending gradu- ate school at UNCC and is employed by Shelby City Schools. MRS. BRUCE BRADFORD LEVINE (Donna Elaine Ross) Ross-LeVine First Presbyterian Church in Asheboro was the setting Saturday for the wedding of Donna Elaine Ross and Bruce Bradford LeVine. Russ Ward officiated the ceremony for which the wedding music was! presented by Joy Menius, organist; Zoe Faircloth and Gregory Byrum, soloists, and Rich Blakemore, trumpeter. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a stunning gown of imported white satin, designed by Carole Hai for the Moonlight Victorian Rose Collection. The fitted bodice, embellished with a fusion of pearled lace, sequins and bugle beads, featured a Queen Anne neckline with padded shoulders. Long, fitted sleeves and a keyhole back opening completed the bodice. The ball gown skirt, complimented with a double bustle bow, flowed into a scalloped cathedral train enhanced by numerous large lace appliques detailed with pearls and sequins. The entire gown was edged in beaded, re-embroidered lace. Melissa Harrison was the bride's matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Robin Allred of Randleman, Lisa LeVine of Black Mountain, Carol Cole, Jenni Breedlove and Penny Powell, all of Asheboro, and Anne Clark of Gastonia. He earned his teacher's certificate from Warren Wilson Coilege and is employed by Randolph County School as a high school teacher and coach. The veil of triple tiers of illusion was draped from a pearl and sequined headpiece. She carried a bouquet of magenta and white roses interspersed with baby's breath and ivy. Libby Putnam, organist, and Linda Dixon, vocalist, presented the wed- ding music. The bride wore a royal blue dress and a corsage of white rosebuds and gypsophilia, a gift of Rita and Terry Baker. A reception was held after the ceremony in the church fellowship hall. The bridegroom's daughter, Carolyn Armstrong of Greenville, SC, baked the yellow and white wedding cake which was topped with fresh flowers. Special guests included the bride's son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Emest Howell of Swannanoa, the bridegroom's son and daughter-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wright of Concord, and the bridegroom's daugh- ters and their husbands, Mr. and Mrs. Moffett Scism of Kings Mountain and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Armstrong of Greenville, SC.
