Blanton-Dellinger : Mary Elizabeth Blanton and Bryan Keith Dellinger were married September 10 at the First Presbyterian Church in Kings Mountain. i At the sounding of the chimes, Dr. Richard Brantley Newsome officiated the 6 p.m. double-ring ceremony. I The bride is the daughter of Hallie Ward Connor and Charles Donald Blanton and the late Kenneth Homer Hustetler. She is a graduate of Kings Mountain High School, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill gnd the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She has a B. A. degree if) Business and Accounting. A Certified Public Accountant, "Liza" is em- yoy ed by Arthur Anderson and Co. in Charlotte. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Gene Dellinger. He a graduate of Kings Mountain High School, attends the University of lorth Carolina at Charlotte and is employed by United Parcel Service in ‘harlotte. The bride's maid of honor was Robin Lee Warlick. Bridesmaids were ‘aroline Noblitt Atkinson, cousin of the bride; Lisa Dawn Edwards, lelanie Herndon Hayes, Patricia Lynn McGinnis and Julie Yarbro Rikard. All the attendants wore black silk jackets with rhinestone buttons and a-length skirts. Be st man for the bridegroom was his father. , Groomsmen were David William Blanton, brother of ‘the bride; David Larry Dellinger, brother of the bridegroom; John Charles Forrest, Thomas Ryan Hollifield, Samuel Chad Leigh, Jonathan William Reid and James Lawson Thompson. Kristyn Michele Funderburke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Edward ‘underburke Jr., was the flower girl. She carried an antique fluted glass nd silver bridal wedding basket, an heirloom of the bride's great-great unt. Lisa Rhyne Cash attended the guest register and Kimberly McGinnis bpicer gave programs to the wedding guests. The music for the wedding included "My Heart Ever Faithful"; "Prelude nd Fuge in G Minor"; Jesus, Joy of Man's Desiring," by Airoso; "Prelude and Fugue in F Major"; If Thou Art Near" by Bach; "Canon in D" by Pachelbel; "Surely the Presence of the Lord". by Wolfe; Trumpet /oluntary"; Trumpet Tune and Air" by Purcell; "I Will be Here" by _hapman; "Ode to Joy" by Beethoven; and "Psalm XIX" BY Marcello. Shirley Falls Austin was organist, Christopher Cole was trumpeter and Carla Katherine Ramsey was soloist for the program of wedding music. Mary Sommers Neisler directed the wedding. Honored family guests for the ceremony were grandparents of the bride, #Mr. and Mrs. Wintford Albert Russell, Hal Durant Ward and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Otto Williams. Other honored family guests included Robert Nelson Connor, Mrs. Charles Donald Blanton, Stephanie Gore, Donna Elizabeth Blanton and her husband, John Van Gieson of Tallahassee, Fla. and Mr. ¥and Mrs. Tom Crockett. The bridegroom's honored family guests were Mrs. William Vester Dellinger, grandmother} of the bridegroom; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Edward Funderburke Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Gene Blanton, Mrs. Peggy Cooper Blanton of Sanford, Mr. and Mrs. Lenwood Horton, Chad and Michael Horton of Goldsboro; Mrs. Pearl Blanton Canipe, Mr.and Mrs. Dennis Mitchell Blanton, Leslie Denise Blanton, Dennis Mitchell Blanton Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Blanton, Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Wayne Dellinger and Mr. and Mrs. Paul A. Scism, Hurricane glasses with candles and magnolia leaves filled the windows of the sanctuary. An arrangement of snapdragons was placed on the Sacrament table and magnolia blossoms and leaves designated seating for the honored guests: Memory cand s were lit in the church entry in memory of Kenneth § Hustetler, Mary Creswell, William V. Dellinger and Mr. and Mrs. Edd Blanton. A 5 IE RR A Ew So RAE reang » ame a Charles Penald Blanton escorted his daughter to the altar. She wore her mother's formal wedding gown that she wore in 1963 of ivory silk peau de soie. The bodice was of French net and embroidered Alencon lace and seed pearls dad was designed with brief sleeves and scooped neckline. The sheath was enhanced with a tucked midriff and detachable aisle-wide Chapel train with a panel of lace. The bride's head-dress was a crown of tiny; ceramic roses and pearls. The bride also wore a bracelet belonging to her grandmother, Helen Covington Blanton. Immediately following the ceremony, guests were entertained at a din- ner-dance hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nelson Connor and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Donald Blanton at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Gene Dellinger. festive mood was set at the beautifully decorated country home of the Delingers. Large yellow, blue and white tents covered tables decorated with white chrysanthemums and yellow lanterns. The grounds were further decorated with ferns and yellow chrysanthemums. Guests dined on Hickory smoked barbecue and traditional accompaniments. Music was provided for dancing. ‘The wedding cake and bride's portrait were featured in a separate tent. Fireworks lighted the skies, adding special excitement to the wedding celebration. MRS. MICHAEL SHANE FARRIS ( Shana Carol Wood) Wood-Farris Florence Baptist Church in Forest City was the setting for the Saturday wedding uniting Shana Carol Wood and Michael Shane Farris. Dr. Bobby Gantt officiated the ceremony for which Mrs. Ronda Gantt presented the wedding music. The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a long formal gown of white silk shantung. The Basque bodice had a Victorian neckliné ‘of beaded Alencon lace and Jong tapered sleeves. The ball gown skirt had a semi- cathedral train with a wide hem border of Alencon lace. The lace’ was beaded with seed pearls and sequins. She wore a white silk head band ac- cented with iridescent beads and loops of tiny seed pearls. The layered cut-edged illusion veil was cathedral-length. For "something borrowed," the bride wore her mother's garter. She carried a cascade bouquet of garde- nias, stephanotis and bridal white roses with ivy and fern. Maria Chapa of Forest City and Jennifer Enrich of Barnardsville were maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Marshall Sybert of Fort Devens, Massachusetts, Mrs. Aaron Wilson of Forest City and Mrs. Steve York of Mooresboro. All the attendants. wore two-piece suits of Hunter green brocade. Fhe suits had tea length skirts. They carried arm bouquets of Stargazer lilies and white roses and ivy and tied with ivory satin ribbons. Honorary attendants were Nina Chang of Raleigh, Sherry Deters of Wilson and Angela Poland of Cary. The bridegroom's father was best man. Ushers were Billy Wood of Raleigh, brother of the bride, Chad Farris of Kings Mountain, brother of the bridegroom, Max Davis of Grover and Doug Marchand of Charlotte. The bride's parents hosted the reception after the ceremony in the church fellowship hall. The bridegroom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Friday night "On the Boardwalk" in Rutherfordton. Mr. and Mrs. Billie J. Wood of Forest City are parents of the bride. A 1988 graduate of East Rutherford High School, she is a Cum Laude gradu- ate of North Carolina State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. She is employed in industrial sales by Granzow Inc. in Charlotte. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Claude Lawing Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Wood. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Raymond Farris of Kings Mountain and the grandson of Mr. and Ms. Lawrence Ross of Kings Mountain and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Farris. He is a 1988 graduate of Kings Mountain High School and a 1993 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he earned his B. S. degree in Electrical Engineering. He is employed as a development engineer by PFA Inc. in Charlotte. After a wedding trip to Bar Harbor, Maine, the newlyweds will reside in Charlotte : - Holt-Wright The engagement of Miss Leslie Dawn Holt of Cherryville and Jeffrey Brandon Wright of Bessemer City is announced by the bride-elect's mother and stepfather, Sheila and Rev. Chad Daves. Miss Holt is also the daughter of Robert Holt Jr. of Bessemer City. She is a graduate of Bessemer City High School where she was Captain of the Varsity Cheerleading Squad and was nominated to "Who's Who Among American High School Students” for three consecutive years. She is em- ployed by Dr. Robert Crouch DDS. The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Jerry and Cathy Wright of Bessemer City. A graduate of Bessemer City High School, he is an Eagle Scout and is employed by Wright Electric Inc. ‘The couple plans a December 3 wedding. CETTE DEAT TOR WRITE MRS. BRIAN SCOTT ALLEN (Zena Yvonne Hawkins) Hawkins-Allen Mr. and Mrs. Brian Scott Allen, who were wed Saturday, are on a we ding trip to Cancun, Mexico and afterwards will be at their new home i Charlotte. Zena Yvonne Hawkins became Allen's bride in a ceremony in Fir Wesleyan Church. Rev. Mark E. Bardsley officiated. Jada Brown and Preston Brown were vocalists, Robert Cashion was o ganist and pianist and Christopher Cole was trumpeter for the program wedding music. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal gown of white silk lace and tulle adorned with silk Venice lace and handsewf seed pearls. The sleeveless dress was designed with a portrait necklind. The tulle skirt was accented with silk lace appliques scattered througho the sweep train which completed the look of this designer wedding gown} Kim H. Arenas of Murrells Inlet, SC was matron of honor. Tony Hawkins of Pawleys Island, SC was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Gina Ayscue of Gastonia, Suzanne Grayson an Sharon Carter of Shelby. All the attendants wore fushia two-piece suits designed with tea-longd skirts. Lauren Baity and Caitlin Baity were flower girls. JEFFREY DAN ROWELL (Wanda Gail Pearson) Pearson-Rowell Resurrection Lutheran Church was the setting Saturday for the 6:30 p. wedding uniting Wanda Gail Pearson and Jeffrey Dan Rowell in marriage} Rev. John D. Futterer officiated the ceremony for which Evelyn Bride}: was organist and Kay Pearson was vocalist. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal a of pastel pink satin enhanced with white pearls and crystal sequins. The full train was layered with chiffon ruffles and extended from the long skigt. She carried a bouquet of white carnations and Sweetheart pink roses. § Diane Dixon of Kings Mountain was maid of honor. Crystal McM: 1h§n of Shelby, the bride's daughter. and Joyce Carpenter of Shelby were brides- maids. ’ The three attendants wore floor-length long-sleeved gowns of burgundy satin. The maid of honor carried a bouquet of multi-colored pink and - gundy flowers. The bridesmaids carried wreaths of multi-color pink agd burgundy flowers which surrounded a candle and globe.
