GARY GREENE STANFIELD (Bonnie Frances Hinnant Hinnant-Stanfield Bonnie Frances Hinnant and Gary Greene Stanfield were married Saturday in a 4 p.m. wedding in Saint Matthew's Lutheran Church. Dr. John David Mauney was the officiating minister. Mary Emma Cobb Mauney presented an organ prelude before the service. Walter Rickert Hinnant of Winston-Salem escorted his sister. Ted Wayne Stanfield was his brother's best man. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Lawrence Eugene Hinnant of Kings Mountain and the late Mr. Hinnant. She graduated from Kings Mountain High School and from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is Vice-President, Consumer Banking Manager, at First Union National Bank in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Greene Stanfield and the late Mr. Stanfield of Lexington, SC. He is a graduate of Lexington High School and the University of South Carolina. He is a computer consultant in Columbia, SC and owner of Power Brands, Inc. The bride's family entertained the wedding guests at their home on North Piedmont Avenue after the ceremony. The bridegroom and his family were hosts at a dinner Friday night. After a trip to Antigua, the:newlyweds will live at Hilton Head Island. Rev. James Rush of Epworth-by-the-Sea United Methodist Retreat, St. Simons Island, officiated. Vows were said in the presence of fatnily and friends amid the island setting of lush ferns and palms in the oceanside gazebo. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a tea-length- floral print gown of white, pastel jade and mauve accentuated by a veil of white silk il- lusion adorned with delicate pearls and pale mauve silk flowers: She car- ried a bouquet of white daisies, baby's breath and miniature English i vy. The bride's niece, Rebecca Carlisle Broadway of Kings Mountain, de- lighted guests as she sprinkled the lawn with flower petals. Rebecca. wore a white tea-length gown of organdy and satin trimmed with pale: pink’ flow- ers. Following the ceremony the bride's parents hosted a champagne recep- tion and supper at the 4th of May Cafe in St. Simons Village. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Smith Jr. of Kings Mountain. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Smith Sr. of Spartanburg, SC and Mr. and Mrs. William Walker Smoak of Camden, SC and the late George Hamlin O'Kelley of Bishopville, SC. She is a grad- uate of Peace College and North Carolina State University. The bridegroom is the son of Janette Winstead Bradley of Clover, SC and the late Jessie Dillard Winstead of Gastonia. He is the grandson of Mrs. Sidney Dawn and the late Mr. Dawn of Gastonia and Mrs. Carl Winstead of Kings Mountain and the late Mr. Winstead. He is employed by C&C Boiler, Inc. in Charlotte. The newlyweds reside in Kings Mountain. Presbyterians set annual fall services The annual fall services of area Presbyterian churches will begin Sunday at 7 p.m. with a hymn sing at First Presbyterian Church in Cherryville.
