Kings Mountain woman injured by storm drain A Kings Mountain woman was treated for injuries Saturday afternoon in the Kings Mountain Hospital Emergency Room after she ac- cidentally fell into a storm drain in: front of Billy's Automotive. Kathy Sue Mauney, 44, of 401 Walnut. St; had been watching the 3:30 p.m. Kings Mountain Christmas Parade. She told City. Ptl. Rena Rikard that she moved over in the street to let someone pass by and stepped on the edge of the storm drain cover and it gave away and she fell into the storm drain. ; Mauney sustained injuries to her hip and back, according to the police report. The accident happened at 5:15 p.m. ARRESTS Dennis Dawkins, 36, Northwoods Dr., safe movement violation and ob- structed windshield, citations. Rikard said that a 1993 Pontiac operated by Brenda Lee Martin, 108 Lackey St. struck a 1989 Hyundai operated by Christopher Wood, 205 Linwood Road, doing $1250 damage. The accident happened on West King Street. Ptl. R. K. Rikard said that a 1989 Honda operated by Teresa Bailey Anderson, 36 Kingswood Apts., struck a 1988 Nissan operated by Samuel Whitworth, 1109 N. Washington St., on East King Street doing $1800 dam- age. Anderson said she looked down to talk to her daughter and tried unsuc- cessfully to avoid the collision. NOVEMBER 29 Sgt James P.
