injured by storm drain
A Kings Mountain woman
was treated for injuries
Saturday afternoon in the
Kings Mountain Hospital
Emergency Room after she ac-
cidentally fell into a storm
drain in: front of Billy's
Automotive.
Kathy Sue Mauney, 44, of
401 Walnut. St; had been
watching the 3:30 p.m. Kings
Mountain Christmas Parade.
She told City. Ptl. Rena
Rikard that she moved over in
the street to let someone pass by
and stepped on the edge of the
storm drain cover and it gave
away and she fell into the storm
drain. ;
Mauney sustained injuries to
her hip and back, according to
the police report.
The accident happened at
5:15 p.m.

Dr., safe movement violation and ob-
structed windshield, citations.
Reginald Girard, 49, 807 First St.,
communicating threats, $300 bond, se-
cured.
Donnie Ray Cogdell, 22, Margrace
Rd., expired tag, citation.
Gerald Michael Lamoureux, 32, 100
Bill's Ave., Cherryville, DWI and no
operator's license, $300 bond, secured.
Boyce Wayne Patterson,41, 1018
Second St., DWI, $300 bond, unse-
cured.

Robert Gilbert, 910 E. 6th St.,

permanently revoked, displaying a fic-
titious registration plate and filing a
false police report to Kings Mountain
Police Department, $1,000 bond, se-
cured.
Karen Hannah, 24, 1014 Second St.,
DWI and driving while license re-
voked, $500 bond, secured.

Julia Smith, 411 Fulton Dr., reported
theft of her checkbook from her resi-
dence.
Debra Martin, 210 Margaret St., re-
ported larceny of an automobile tag.
The number: DXH 1284.
Toney's Clothing reported that a
customer passedé@ $111.25 check on a
closed account.
Heileg-Meyers reported that a cus-
tomer passed a $285.33 check on a
closed account.
Ford Wade Services, Charlotte, re-
ported theft of a $100 gumball machine
from KM Knit Fabrics.
Handy Pantry, 225 N. Cleveland
Authorities recovered a GMC S15
truck reported stolen by Lloyd Walker
Idol, Byron’ Place, Grover. The truck
was valued at $3,000.

Ptl. R. K. Rikard said that a 1993
Pontiac operated by Brenda Lee
Martin, 108 Lackey St. struck a 1989
Hyundai operated by Christopher
Wood, 205 Linwood Road, doing
$1250 damage. The accident happened
on West King Street.
Ptl. R. K. Rikard said that a 1989
Honda operated by Teresa Bailey
Anderson, 36 Kingswood Apts., struck
a 1988 Nissan operated by Samuel
Whitworth, 1109 N. Washington St.,
on East King Street doing $1800 dam-
age. Anderson said she looked down to
talk to her daughter and tried unsuc-
cessfully to avoid the collision.

Sgt James P. Camp said that a hit
and run driver struck a parked 1988
Dodge owned by Kamal Gobindram
Jagasia, 207 W. Mountain St., doing
$650 damage. The accident happened
on West Mountain Street.
Ptl.W. P. Fredell said that a 1985
Pontiac operated by Ronnie Philbeck
Jr., Bessemer City, bumped a 1987
Pontiac operated by Kenneth Wayne
Stewart. 207 Blanton St. The accident
happenca in the Clyde A. Short public
vehicular area on Phenix Street.
Damages totaled $201).
Sgt. James Camp said that a 1977
Chevrolet truck operated by Boyce
Hinson, 914 Linwood Road, struck a
1984 Chevrolet truck operated by a 16-
year-old student in the parking lot at
. the Middle School on Phifer Road.
Damages amounted to $125.

Ptl. T. B. Fletcher said that a 1991
Oldsmobile operated by Nora
Humphries, 13(X) Second St., pulled in-
to the path of a car operated by Cherry
Fisher of Stanley doing $5,000 dam-
age. The accident happened at the in-
tersection of North Watterson Street
and Waco Road.

Dennis Dav/king, 1404 Northwoods,
told officers he couldn't see because of
heavy frost on his windshield and his
1967 Ford struck a 1990 Ford operat-
St., Cherryville. Campbell was driving
a Gaston County Police vehicle which
ed by Philip Campbell. West Carroll
Ave.. reported theft of five ball caps
valued at $1499 each and theft of two
cases of beer valued at $17.98.
Police recovered a fire and rescue

Mountain Fire Department which had
been assigned to the KM Recreation
Department.
Dana Trucking. Columbia City,
Indiana, reported theft of tires and rims
from a-truck parked at 707 Broadview
Dr.
Barbara Fulton, Allison Court, re-
ported that her 1995 Eagle was dam-
aged $500 while parked at Kings
Mountain High School.
Willie McNeill, 712 York Rd.. re-
ported theft of a $3,000 trailer from
Highway 161 Auto Clinic.
Antwana Rogers, 4B Kingswood,
said she was assaulted by a suspect
who took her $180 necklace.
Eric Hunter Jr., 41 Carolina
Gardens, reported theft of stereo equip-
ment from his car parked at 712 York

Sarah Carrasquillo, 919-A Grace St.
said she was bit by her family dog
when she accidentally stepped on him.
Police said the dog is blind and has
current rabies vaccination.
KM Express Store, 212 W. King St.
reported theft of two cases of beer val-
ued at $12,99 each.

Meadows Dr., bumped a 1993 Nissan
operated by Susan Eubanks, 312
Fulton Dr., at King Street and York
Road. Damages amounted to $25.

Police said a 1986 Chevrolet oper-
ated by Patricia Kiser, Sherrill Ave,
Lincolnton, turned in front of a 1982
Chevrolet operated by Joe Dean Waters
of York, SC. Damages were estimated
at $5,000. The accident occurred on
York Road.
Police said a 1994 Mazda operated
by Kevin Ray Short, Hardwood Circle,
Gastonia, backed into a 1989 Datsun
operated by Eddie Jones, Highway 55
West, Clover, SC doing $500 damage.
The accident occurred on Wilson
Street.

Police said that the Collins 1990 Ford
GMC pulled in front of the 1991 Ford
operated by Valentine. Damages were
estimated at $1,000 to the Valentine
vehicle.
David Michael Morrow, 2133
Weatherford Rd., Shelby, told police he
was reaching. to.pick up something
from the floor board of his 1989
Toyota truck and lost control of his ve-
hicle. The truck hit-a City of Kings
Mountain -utility pole doing $5,000
damage to the truck and $100 to the
pole.
