Kings Mountain Police Report
KM woman reports abduction, sexual assault
A 24-year-old “Kings
Mountain woman told law en-
forcement officers she was ab-
ducted and sexually assaulted at
gunpoint December 23.
The woman said a man ab-
ducted her at gunpoint at a
Kings Mountain car wash at
9:15 p.m. and forced her to
drive her car to a location on
Holiday Inn Drive.
She said he pointed a small
black pistol at her. took her
keys and made her get in her
car. He held the pistol to her
head and sexually assaulted her,
she said.
The woman told county offi-
cers the man pounded her head
against the car until she passed
out. When she awoke, she was
alone and her keys were in the
car and she drove home.
The incident was reported to
Kings Mountain Police at 1:20
a.m. She was treated at Kings
Mountain Hospital.
The suspect is described as a
white man between 35 and 40
years old, approximately 6-1 in
height and weighing from 185
to 200 pounds. He was report-
edly wearing a black jacket,
blue jeans and black gloves. He
was described as having straight
black hair and a mustache with
facial scars and a tattoo of a
lizard on his left wrist.
Ptl. Billy Fredell responded
to the incident call and trans-
ported the woman to the Kings
Mountain Hospital emergency
room for treatment.

to an officer and felony posses-

$300 microwave oven.
Police recovered two stolen
vehicles, a 1989 Pontiac report-
ed stolen from Knoxville, Tn.
and a 1987 Plymouth reported
stolen from Shelby. The
Plymouth is registered to
Veronica Darlene Carlton, 415
Gardner St., Apt. A, Shelby.
Ronny Ledford Jr., Landing
St., reported theft of $870 in
stereo equipment and damage
of $265 to his 1993 Ford.
Eckerd Drug Store reported
theft of a stereo cassette player
valued at $9.99.
Handy Pantry reported larce-
ny of beer and cigarettes valued
at $24.
Scott Campbell, Allison
Court, reported theft of $1030
worth of hunting equipment, 3
chain saw, wrenches and tools.
Hardees, 509 E. King St, re-
ported that cash receipts report-
ed a shortage of $64.19.
A Motorola radio belonging
to Grover Rescue Squad was
found on Phifer Road.
Karen Yvette Burris, 206
Thornburg Dr., said that some-
one threw a brick through her
bedroom window doing $75
damage.
Madison County Sheriff's
Department recovered a trailer
containing cloth stolen October
22 from Clevemont Mills. The-
trailer is being inventoried.
Family Storage Center, 715
York Rd., reported theft of
$5,000 in housewares and lawn
and garden equipment.
Johnny Smith, Redwood
Circle, reported theft of a VCR,
Nintendo and fishing equip-
ment.
Sheryl Glenn, S. Weldon St.,
Gastonia, reported that she was
assaulted and robbed of her
wallet containing $135. Glenn
said she was hit in the face by a
black male wearing blue jeans
and a white hooded shirt on
Barnette Drive. Glenn described
the suspect as being six feet
three inches tall and weighing

Melody Schaller, backing her
1981 Datsun truck from a park-
ing space at Eckerd Drug Store,
struck a 1994 Chevrolet operat-
ed by Sandra Goins, Route 3.
Damages were estimated at
$300 to the Goins car.
DECEMBER 15
Ptl. C. M. Latham said that a
1979 Mercury operated by
Lucretta Coulter, 618 Phenix
St., struck a 1984 Honda operat-
ed by Tim Johnson, 921
Sterling Dr. on Walker Street at
Cansler. Damages were estimat-
ed at $1000.
Ptl. C. M. Latham said that a
1983 Dodge operated by Latoya
Pettis, 1503 Northwoods, struck
a 1990 Chevrolet operated by
Bernice Roseboro, 1318
Northwoods Dr. doing $1000
damage. Roseboro said she had
stopped on Northwoods Drive
to let a dog clear the road when
the accident happened.
Pil. T. B. Fletcher said that
Jonathan Trent Allen, Shelby
Rd. lost control of the 1989
Chevrolet truck he was operat-
ing and struck a City of Kings
Mountain utility pole doing a
total of $7000 damage. The
truck is owned by Billy Martin
-Jr., Shelby Road.
DECEMBER 17
Ptl. Chris Owens said a 1986
Ford operated by Melody
Blanton, 107 N. Goforth St.,
struck a parked 1984 Chrysler
in the parking lot of KM Plaza
doing a total of $350 damage.
The parked car is owned by
Ablee Erby, Route 2, Bessemer
City.
