A native of Gaston County, he was the son of Rev. George and Lois Dellinger Willis of Bessemer City and was employed as a Commodities Service Technician at Duke Power Company. He was past president of Bessemer City Jaycees and a mem- ber of First Wesleyan Church of Bessemer City where he served on the local board. Past president of the Optimist Club, he was a 1971 graduate of Kings Mountain High School and volunteered at Bessemer City Recreation Department. Surviving. in addition to his par- ents. are two sons, Brandon C. Willis and Preston C. Willis of the home: one daughter, Tara B. Willis of the home: one brother and sister- in-law, Barry and Linda Willis of Bessemer City; one sister and brother-in-law, Sue and James Johnson of Bessemer City; and his fiancee. Cathy R. Bradshaw of Charlotte. The funeral was conducted December 30. 1995 at 3 p.m. at Family Life Center of First Wesleyan Church by Rev. Jerry Lumston, Rev. Todd Reynolds and Rev. Leroy Easler. Burial was in Sunnyside Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Doc Taylor. Adrian Beam. Ken Armstrong, Gary Crisp, Mike Brockman, Kenny Herman, Jim Jenkins and Gary Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Harold Hill. Rick Grahl, Scott Mann, Jon Mann, Billy Owensby, Dave Summey, David Pittman and Danny Guinn. JOHN LEE BRADLEY John Lee Bradley, 89, of 238 Battleground Rd., died December 29. 1995 at home. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late William A. and Martha Jane Mathis Bradley. He was retired from First National Bank. L Survivors ncldde his wile, Ellen Allen Bradley of the hone; ong son, Jimmy Bradley of Kings Mountain; six daughters, Dorothy Gneda of Bessemer City, Shirley Weston of Charlotte, Edith Philbeck of Shelby, Ruby Peace of Lincolnton. Shelby Jean Calaway of Bessemer City and Brenda McSwain of Shelby; two stepsons, Edward Allen and Grady Allen, both of Patterson Springs; and 26 grandchildren. The graveside service was con- ducted December 31, 1995 at 2 p.m. at Patterson Springs Baptist Church by Rev. Steve Waters. PEGGY BROOKS Peggy Whitaker Brooks, 118 Owens Street, Kings Mountain, died January 1, 1996 at Cleveland Memorial Hospital. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Walter P. and Margaret Carpenter Whitaker. She was a homemaker and a member of Boyce Memorial A.R.P. Church. She is survived by her husband, J.K. Brooks; one son, Donnie Brooks of Dallas; two daughters, Dorothy Brooks Bagwell and Debbie Brooks Martin of Kings Mountain; four brothers, Jackie Whitaker of Smyrna, SC, Danny © Whitaker of Bessemer City, and Billy Whitaker and Roy Whitaker of Kings Mountain; two sisters, i Pearl Sellers of Bessemer City and : Shirley : Mountain; three grandchildren; and : two step-grandchildren. MARGARET ROYSTER GROVER - Margaret Hoffman Royster, 77, 253 Lakeview Drive, Grover, died January 1, 1996 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. . A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of theifatc W. Arthur’ and Bertha *Spargo Hoffman. She was a retired em- ployee of Minnette Mills of Grover, and a member of First Baptist Church, Grover. She is survived by her husband, Frank Royster of the home; two sons. Stephen George Royster and wife Elaine H. Royster of Mt. Airy, and Michael Franklin Royster and wife Susan B. Royster of Pilot Mountain: and five grandchildren. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. John Bridges WEdnesday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Grover. Burial was in Grover Cemetery. ELLA KENDRICK GROVER - Ella Jay Bell Kendrick, 98, of 731 Hollyridge Rd., died January 2, 1996 at Cleveland Memorial Hospital in Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, she was widow of John Hoff Kendrick and the daughter of the late Monroe and Nicey Randle Bell. She was a member of Grover First Baptist Church. The graveside service will be conducted January 4, 1996 at 4 p.m. at Grover Cemetery by Rev. John Bridges. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery. ROBERT HUSS Robert Lee Huss, 64, of 123 Country Creek Drive, died December 20, 1995 at his home. He was a security guard at Kings Mountain Hospital. Surviving are one daughter, Phyllis Neal of Kings Mountain; three sisters, Erlene Fitzgerald of Gastonia, Barbara Fralick and Irene Gann, both of Kings Mountain; and two grandchildren. A native of Newfoundland, Canada, Delaney, 49, is a graduate of St. Theresa's Academy and earned his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Technical University of Nova Scotia, his Bachelor of Medical Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1973, his Doctor of Medicine from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1976 and com- pleted his rotating internship at Health “Science Complex in Newfoundland in 1976. Since 1980 he has been active in the Canadian College of Family Physicians, completing 50-plus ac- credited study hours per year, and continuing medical education in advanced cardiac and advance trauma life support.
