Tonya Dee Blalock became Owens' bride in a cere- mony officiated by Rev. Jerry Wright, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, Ga., in Bethlehem Baptist Church. Frances Lail was organist, Mike Chambers was soloist and Cathy Moore was pianist for the program of nuptial music. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal gown of white satin fedturing a modi- fied square neckline. The fitted bodice was embroi- dered with Alencon lace and was enhanced by Bishop sleeves overlaid with matching lace. A full skirt fea- tured an elaborate scalloped border of lace, pearls and sequins and extended into a Cathedral-length train. Tricia Blalock Hall of Blacksburg, SC was matron of honor. Maid of honor was Dana Lyn Blalock of Kings Mountain. Bridesmaids were Ruth Hullender Blalock of Kings Mountain, Sharon Sheppard White ‘of Grover and Dana Boger Smith of Mt. Pleasant. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Helen Owens of Kings Mountain. A 1985 graduate of Kings Mountain High School, he graduated from Isothermal Community College in 1991. Edwin Lewis officiated the ceremony for | which Victor West, pianist; Monty Potter, organist; John Hardin, trumpeter; and Shelley Rhodes and Laverne Mohl, soloists, presented the nuptial music. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length white silk shantung gown designed with off-the-shoulder neckline, long fitted sleeves, and .sheath skirt enhanced by a Cathedral-length train and embellished with pearls and sequins. Her shoulder- length veil of silk iliusion and pearls was attached to a headpiece of silk shantung and pearl roses. She carried a bouquet of Calla lilies. Kourtney Houston was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Beth Alexander of Mooresville, sis- ter of the bridegroom; Paige Roberts of Gastonia and Emily Tallon of Spartanburg,SC, cousins of the bride; Cristin Curtis of Mooresville and Tina Harrington of Sanford, college roommates of the bride; J'Neile Whitlow of Mooresville and Stephanie Flynt of Chapel Hill.
