Huntersville, formerly of Kings Mountain, died February 16, 1994 at Huntersville Quks. A native of Person :* County, he was a retired Superintendent for Dying for Margrace Mills and a longtime former resident of Kings Mountain and former resident of Concord. He was the son of the late Albert Shipp and Meta Stimson Webb and was married to the late Mary Belle Cannon Webb. He was a member and Elder of Kings Mountain's First Presbyterian Church. He attended Duke University and graduated from North Carolina State University. Prior to moving to Huntersville Oaks, he was active in the Senior Citizen's program at Kings Mountain Depot and in Southern Arts Society. Some of Webb's paintings were featured in local art exhibits. Surviving are one son, Richard H. Webb Jr. of Richmond, Va., five granddaughters and nine great- grandchildren. A daughter, Jean Webb Neill, al- so preceded him in death. i The graveside service was held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Concord. His pastor, Rev. Mooney, and wife of the late | Roscoe Conklin Jones. She was a . homemaker and a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church. She was a former member of Elizabeth Home Demonstration Club. She is survived by her niece, Orea Mauney Homesley of Alexandria, Va; one niece and three nephews. VIRGIE BLANTON Virgie Louise Blanton, 64, 316 Bell Road, Kings Mountain, died February 19, 1995 at her home. A native of Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. JJWILL. and Omie Williams Blanton. She was retired as a frame operator with Armtex Textiles and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church, Blacksburg, SC. She is survived by a daughter, Teresa Louise Blanton Griffin of Kings Mountain; three brothers, James Robert Blanton of Earl and { William Blanton and Victor {| Blanton of Kings Mountain; a sis- ter, Catherine Day of Grover; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Griffin of Kings Mountain. The funeral was conducted by the Revs. M.P. Hampton and Edward McAbee Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Eastside Baptist Church, Blacksburg, SC. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. VIRGINIA SIMS Virginia "Juanita" Rathbone Sims, 58, 409 Somerset Drive, Kings Mountain, died February 15, 1995 at Caralinas Medical Center. A native of Kings Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Dewey Vinson and Carol Dona Dorsey Rathbone. She was a member of Family Worship Center Church of God and was employed as Property Manager for Insignia Management Group. She is survived by her husband, Jack Sims of Kings Mountain; four sons, Venson Sims, Curtis Sims, and Michael Sims, all of Kings Mountain, and Greg Sims of Grover; four brothers, Steve Rathbone, Douglas Rathbone, Bobby Rathbone and Paul Rathbone, all of Kings Mountain; two sisters, Belinda Adams and Geraldine Rathbone of Kings Mountain; and five grandchildren. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. James Allen Saturday at 2 p.m. at Family Worship Center Church of God. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. DR. JOSEPH LEE III Dr. Joseph Lee III, 63, of 407 Garrison Dr., died February 14, 1995 in Baptist Hospital at Winston-Salem. A physician at Kings Mountain Family Practice for 31 years, he was a native of Landrum, SC, son of the late Joseph and Frances King Lee II. He was married to June Chalmers Lee who survives. A member and former deacon of First Baptist Church, he was a for- mer Chief of the Medical Staff at Kings Mountain Hospital and a di- rector of White Oak Manor. He held undergraduate and master's degrees from Clemson University and graduated in 1963 from Medical College of South Carolina at Charleston. He served in the US Army in Germany. Also surviving are two sons, Stephen Lee of Carrboro and Michael Lee of Lexington; two daughters, Nancy Bryant of Gibsonville and Suzanne Orr of Killeen, Texas; and two grandchil- dren. Ridge St., Kings Mountain, 28086. BESSIE HAM Bessie Burton Falls Ham, 88, of Kings Mountain died February 21, 1995 at White Oak Manor. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Agnes Bridges Burton. She was married to the late Arnold Falls and the late Jethro Ham. She was a retired textile worker and a member of Second Baptist Church. She is survived by two daugh- ters, Mrs. Lorena Kiser and Mrs. Saunders of Kings Mountain; a brother, Ira Burton of Cherryville; two sisters, Mrs. Juanita Blanton and Mrs. Vergie Anthony of Cherryville; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 12 great- great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted by the Revs. Eugene Land and David Philbeck Thursday at 11 a.m. at Harris Chapel. Burial will be in Patterson Grove Baptist Church cemetery. A native of Bakersville, he was the son of the late Jesse James and Hattie Buchanan McKinney and was married to Hattie Buchanan McKinney. He was a building con- tractor and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Army veteran. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Coley McKinney and Allen McKinney of Dallas, two daughters, Tammy McKinney of Gastonia and Julie Haney of Dallas; three step-sons, Dennis Sessoms of Tryon, David Sessoms of Charlotte and Victor Sessoms of Kings Mountain; two brothers, Bud McKinney and Jerrol McKinney of Dallas; and 11 grand- children, Jeffrey, Cody, Joshua, Charlie, Ann Nicole, Dylan, Kellie, Gina, Jamie, Ashley and Karen. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dean McKinney. The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. at Dallas Chapel. Rev. Darrin Dunkin will officiate and burial will be in Long Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
