Kings Mountain Police Report = 27 Two Kings Mountain High School © students were suspended from school § for 10 days February 22 for fighting { and one of the two, a 16-year-old stu- dent, was charged with disorderly con- duct with trial set for March 14 in Cleveland County District Court. Sgt. Melvin Proctor was the arrest- ing officer, assisted by Interim Chief Bob Hayes and Sgt. Raymond Garris! Officers said the fight took place in the school library. Assistant Principal Ethel Bumgardner said the fight "was very violent and it was difficult to get the students under control." The 15-year-old boy was not charged but officers said he had al- legedly participated in disorderly con- duct and resisting a public officer in connection with the incident. WRECKS FEBRUARY 20 A 1980 Ford van owned by the City of Kings Mountain was damaged $100 when a hit and run vehicle backed into it at the Mauney Memorial Library parking lot. Ptl. R.K.
