GLENDA KAY DELLINGER DENNIS LEE HOPE JR. Dellinger-Hope Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Croft of Bessemer City an- nounce the engagement of their daughter, Glenda Faye Dellinger, to Dennis Lee (Bo) Hope Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis L. Hope Sr. of Kings Mountain. The wedding will take place April 14 at 4 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church in Grover. Anniversary Blalocks honored Saturday on 35th wedding anniversary The children of Dub and Carolyn Blalock honored their parents with a surprise dinner at The Little Bighorn in Stanley Saturday night. Over 50 guests, including family and friends, en- joyed an evening of dinner and dancing. Hosting the party were the couple's children, Tricia Blalock Hall of Clover, SC, Todd Blalock, Dana Blalock and Tonya Blalock Owens. Other members of the family are the five grandchil- dren, Ginnie Lee, Cort and Will Hall of Clover and Brantley and Connor Blalock of Kings Mountain. Mrs. Blalock is the former Carolyn Wright, daugh- ter of Bert Wright Blalock and the late Rev. Wray Wright. Mr. Blalock is the son of the late Virginia Wells and [Herman Blalock Sr. "Dana Blalock wrote a poem to her parents on the occasion, thanking them for their love and faith and praising them for teaching the children how to love each other and their father and his brick trowel for putting all the children through school. LEA RANDALL Receiving rat- ings of superior, the highest grade, were Erin Baxter, Carrie Carpenter, Krista Carpenter, Lauren Dye, Matthew Echols, Stephanie Echols, Catherine Gordon, Jennifer Haynes, Jamie Mabry and Hope Randall. Stephanie Echols, Jennifer Haynes and Jamie Mabry won a second consecutive superior rating and will be candidates for the Gold Certificate of National Honor and the 15-point Gold Cup in 1996. Matthew Echols won a fourth consecutive Superior rating. Lea won the NFMC 30-point Gold Cup for her performance of "Soldier's March" by Schumann and "Our Day to Share" by Hartsell. She won the 15-point Gold Cup in 1992 and was awarded National Honor by the Federation in 1989, 1990 and 1992. A student at Bessemer City High School, she has studied piano with Gore for nine years. She has won eight certificates of Musical Achievement, the Gold piano pin for three years of excellence in per- formance and the Gold and Onyx pin for six years excellence in per- formance. She is a candidate for the nine year performance pin. A student at Kings Mountain Middle School, he has studied piano with Mrs. Gore for five years and plays the piano at Macedonia Baptist Church. He has won five certificates of musical achievement, the Gold piano pin for excellence in performance in 1993, the golden note trophy for progress in 1994.
