She was retired from Shelby Knit and was a member of David Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, where she was a member of the Golden Circle Sunday School Class. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Chapman Vess of Grover; four brothers, R.C. A native of Jamestown, NY, she was the daughter of the late William Raistick and Alice Bland Raistick, and wife of the late Wilson L. Messenger. She was a retired veneer foreman.
