JASON CARY MAY (Lisa Dawn Edwards) Edwards-May First Baptist Church of Bessemer City was the set- ting July 15 for the 4 p.m. candlelight wedding unit- ing Lisa Dawn Edwards of Kings Mountain and Jason Cary May of Bessemer City. Rev. Larry Ray McClure officiated the double-ring ceremony which included the lighting of the Unity candle and the chiming of bells at the nuptial hour. Terry Bradley was organist; Stephanie Edwards, niece of the bride, was pianist; and Mike Chambers was vocal soloist. Chambers sang "Parents Prayer" and "Surely the Presence" and "If You Could See What I See" and Edwards played a solo, "Can You Feel the Love?" The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white straight gown of bridal satin and pearl- ized pearls and lace appliques. The dress was a formal design designed by "A Private Label by G" and fea- tured a Sweetheart neckline and short sleeves. The waist-length veil of illusion was designed by the bride's mother. She carried a bouquet of pink roses, white lilies, miniature daisies and ivy. Sandy Lynn Edwards was her sister's maid of honor and bridesmaids were Kim Cummings Carson of Summerfield, Karen Cummings Griffin of Chapel Hill, Carron Leslie May of Gastonia, sister of the bride- groom, Liza Blanton Dellinger of Kings Mountain and Melissa Williamson Dunaway of Charleston, SC. All the attendants wore royal blue tea-length gowns by Alfred Angelo of Bingaline with Sweetheart neck- lines. The bride's parents hosted the reception after the ceremony in the church fellowship hall where the wed- ding colors were featured in decorative details. A four- tier cake was cut and served with refreshments. The bridegroom's parents hosted the rehearsal din- ner July 14 at the church. Barbecue with all the trim- mings was served. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Garfield Edwards of Kings Mountain are parents of the bride. A graduate of Kings Mountain High School, she was educated at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is em- ployed as an eighth grade teacher at Kings Mountain Middle School. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Calvin May of Bessemer City. A graduate of Bessemer City High School, he was educated at Limestone College in Gaffney, SC and Montreat-Anderson College in Montreat. He is employed by the Gaston County Parks & Recreation Department. The newlyweds have returned from a trip to Hilton Head Island, SC and are residing in Kings Mountain. Senior citizens planning day-long health seminar Area senior citizens are invited to attend a seminar on "Legal, Financial and Health Management," on Thursday, August 31, from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Council on Aging/Senior Center, 408 E. She is a 1991 graduate of Kings Mountain High School and will receive her de- gree in December from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The bridegroom is the son of Beverly A.
