Rev. and Mrs. Oscar Stalcup and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Eng, left to
right, ministers of the Foursquare Church, have returned from a
seminar on the healing ministry in Gresham, Oregon.
Ministers attend seminar on healing
Local ministers of the Kings
Mountain Foursquare Church have
returned from Gresham, Oregon,
where they attended a seminar
dealing with the present day heal-
ing ministry of Christ in the
church.
Pastor Oscar Stalcup and Mrs.
Stalcup and Assistant Ministers
Rev. Robert and Susan Eng said
the seminar encompassed a variety
of denominational perspectives.
"If ever there has been a time
for the local church to become a
place of healing it is now," said
Eng.
"To do that the Church of
America has to change because tra-
ditions of the past no longer can
deal with the turbulence and dys-
function of today's society."
Eng said that a survey in
America revealed that only 26 per-
cent of the population today be-
lieves the local church has any-
thing relevant to say.
Stalcup said that there must be a
real, honest healing, of shattered
homes, hurts deeps within and
healings of local communities.
Stalcup said that in January 1996
at the Holiday Inn in Kings
Mountain the seminar of healing
for today will be offered to local as
well as Southeastern ministers.
