PEDERSEN (Ethel Bumgardner) Bumgardner-Pedersen Polkyville Baptist Church was the setting July 8 for the wedding of Ethel Shytle Bumgardner and C. J. "Pete" Pedersen. Rev. Mike Duncan and Rev. Alton Martin officiated the 4 p.m. ceremony. Mrs. Reba Head was organist, Mrs. Diane Branch was pianist, Betsy Wright was chimer, and Mrs. Carol Martin and Rodney Mauney were vocalists for the pro- gram of nuptial music. The bride was given in marriage by her son, Dennis .- Bumgardner. She wore an ivory satin gown trimmed with tiny, beaded pearls. The scoop neckline, waist and hemline of the long skirt were enhanced with lace. The bride wore a matching illusion veil accented with satin bows. She carried a bouquet of ivory buds intertwined with baby's breath on a white Bible. The bride's daughter-in-law, Mrs. Barbara Bumgardner, was matron of honor and the bride's granddaughter, Leslie Bumgardner, was maid of honor. The two attendants wore fushia satin gowns de- signed with Sweetheart necklines and matching lace rand white pearls. They carried bouquets of fushia and white flowers intertwined with baby's breath and satin ribbon. The bridegroom's son, Paul Pedersen of Charlot, was best man. The bride's grandson, Robbie Bunleardnge of = Polkville, ushered with the bride's brother Jack Shytle of Polkville, Steven Nelli of Gastonia and Mark Madden of Casar. Register attendants were the bride's sister, Mrs. Ruby White, and the bride's brother Joe Shytle. See Pederson, 7-B MRS. STUART EDWARD SPIRES (Tracy Renae Massey) Massey-Spires Tracy Renae Massey of Starr, SC became the bride of Stuart Edward Spires of Anderson, SC on July 22 at Oakwood Baptist Church in Anderson. Dr. Robert Burks officiated. A reception was held after the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Massey of Starr, SC. A 1992 graduate of Oakwood Christian School in Anderson, she is a senior biology major at Anderson College and is employed as a lab assistant in the Science Department. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Millage C. Spires of Kings Mountain. A 1989 graduate of Kings Mountain High School, he graduated with a B. S. degree in business administration from Anderson College in 1995. He is a graduate student at Clemson University working on a M. S. degree in industrial management. The bridegroom is employed as a gradu- ate assistant with the College of Commerce and Industry at Clemson University. Maid of honor was Lisa Massey of Anderson. Best man was the bridegroom's father. Ushers were Jody Gibson of ‘Anderson and‘Rodney ‘Starrett of Kings Mountain. The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bridegroom's parents on July 21 at GT's Restaurant in Anderson. The newlyweds have returned from a wedding trip to the South Carolina Coast and are residing in Anderson, South Carolina.
