| _. a Sami he TR Margaret Sharpe Speller, 43, of Cherry Street, faces first degree murder charges in the shooting death of Calvin McKinley, 33, Friday night. Kings Mountain Det. Lt. Houston Corn said that police re- sponding to a 911 call found McKinley lying on the sidewalk at the intersection of Baker and Cherry Streets. Police said that Speller, accom- panied by her attorney, turned her- self in to Kings Mountain Police Saturday at 11:30 a.m. morning and was jailed in Cleveland County Jail without bond. Speller and McKinley, according to police, have been sharing a resi- dence at 404 Cherry Street, about two blocks from the crime scene. The shooting happened around 10:15 p.m. Friday night. McKinley was shot once in the chest, accord- ing to Coroner Ralph Mitchem. Captain Richard Reynolds said the shooting apparently followed a domestic incident. ARRESTS Timothy Ray Leach, 33, 218 Morris St., show cause for non-support, $1000 bond, secured. INCIDENTS James Rushing, 508 Waco Rd., re- ported larceny of a vehicle tag and two headlight rims.
