SENIOR FRIENDLY AWARD

Hullenders announce birth of twins
Mr. and Mrs. Trent Hullender of
Kings Mountain announce the birth
of twin boys. Ryan Cole and
Devin Chase were born July 18,
1995, at Carolina's Medical Center
in Charlotte. Ryan Cole weighed
six pounds and was 19 and a quar-
ter inches long. Devin weighed 6.1
pounds and was 19 inches long.
Ruby Hallman of Cherryville is
the maternal grandmother.

Head Start accepting Kenan Program applications
Cleveland County Head Start is
accepting applications for the
Kenan Program. The program is
designed for parents who wish to
complete their high school diploma
or receive their GED through
Cleveland Community College,
and spend time in the afternoons in
the classroom with their child.
The program requirements in-
clude:
- Parents willing to attend adult
education class during morning
hours and the rest of the day in
class with their child.

Saturday, September 9, a night
hike/owl outing is planned at 8:30
p.m. Wear comfortable walking
shoes and clothing and take insect
repellent. The hike is limited to 20

park ranger for a talk and close-up
look at these often misunderstood
reptiles. View both poisonous and
non-poisonous snakes live which
are native to the area. The talk will
last about one hour. Meet at the
