JIMMY SCOTT CRAINE (Maranda Kay Ledbetter) Ledbetter-Craine Lighthouse Pentecostal Holiness Church in Kings Mountain was the setting September 16 for the wed- ding of Maranda Kay Ledbetter and Jimmy Scott Craine. Rev. Darrell Alexander officiated the ceremony for which Joan Grigg was pianist. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white bridal gown of lace and satin featuring a fitted bodice with pearls enhancing the neckline, heart-shaped back and a long skirt enhanced by a bow at the back and complimented by a Cathedral train studded with lace and sequins. She carried a bouquet of dark blue carnations, sunflowers and pink roses and greenery interspersed with white wedding bells. Stephanie Adams Alexander of Gastonia was ma- tron of honor and bridesmaids were Jennifer Payne Graham, Trina Gail Morrison and April Dawn Morrison, all of Kings Mountain. All the attendants wore midnight blue formals fea- turing heart-shaped backs and bows. The skirts of the dresses were tea-length in front and long in the back. They carried nosegays of dark blue carnations, sun- flowers and pink roses. Amber Christine Alexander and Courtney Sandrell Poole, both of Gastonia, were flower girls. Kyle Ertzberger of Gastonia was ringbearer. Terrell Norman Poole of Gastonia was best man. Ushers were Johnny Christopher Ledbetter of i “Smyrna, SC, Charles "Chuck" Couch of Charlo and Matt Morgan of Belmont. Y Hirt j Faye/Bush and. Margaret Bush hosted’ "e" Fecapiion | after the ceremony in the church fellowship hall. Assisting in serving refreshments were Teresa Moss, Julie Haas, Heidi Clack, Geneva Cole and Ann Schelig. C. B. Hardin Jr. of Shelby was wedding photogra- pher. Videographer was Dan Hughes of Gastonia. The newlyweds have returned from a trip to Holden Beach and are residing in Gastonia. The bride is the daughter of Kathy Lynn Bush of Kings Mountain and Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Stephen Ledbetter of Gastonia. A 1992 graduate of Kings Mountain High School, she completed the paralegal program at Kings College in 1993 and was on the Dean's List. She is the granddaughter of Ethel C. Bush of Kings Mountain, Sadie P. Ledbetter and the late Johnny W. Ledbetter of Charlotte; Mr. and Mrs. Dutch McGinnis of Gastonia; the late William Bush of Statesville and great-granddaughter of Alder Ledbetter of Charlotte. The bridegroom is the son of the late Sandrell Kay Craig and, Mr. and Mrs. James Glenn Craine of Gastonia, He is a 1993 graduate of Southpoint High School in:Belmont and is currently in the North Carolina Army National Guard stationed in Belmont. He is employed by Fab Pattern Shop Inc. of Charlotte. He is the grandson of Edith Ertzberger of Gastonia and the late Henry Ertzberger, Florine Craine of Charlotte i= | and Mr. and Mrs. Blackie Craine of Gastonia. MRS. JIMMY SCOTT LEATHERMAN (Tonya Dawn Carrigan) Carrigan-Leatherman Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Scott Leatherman, who were wed September 23, have returned from a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico and are residing at 5036 Harmon Road in Kings Mountain. Tonya Dawn Carrigan became Leatherman's bride in a ceremony in First Baptist Church in Shelby. Rev. Norris Willis, pastor of Allen Memorial Baptist Church in Grover, officiated the ceremony for which Jeri Ledford, organist, and former Miss North Carolina Dana Stephenson, vocalist, presented the nuptial music. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal gown of ivory slipper satin featuring a decolletage neckline, short sheer sleeves and princess lines through the bodice and full-length skirt. The bodice and sleeves were heavily appliqued with ivory corded silk Venice lace enhanced with pearls and clear sequins. The bouquet was a Victorian design with stephanotis, roses, gardenias and larkspur. The bride's sister, Sherry Rippy, was matron of hon- or and the bride's sister, Lisa Ingle, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Cindy Childers and Gina Teague, both of Hickory, Tonya York of Gastonia, Nicole Lindsay of Stanley, Angela Hughes of Greer, SC and Nikki Brown of Columbia, SC. All the attendants wore elegant full-length gowns of purple iridescent taffeta and rich velvet. The gowns featured a halter neckline with a large pointed collar, shirred taffeta in a wide band at the waist with pearl -and silver beaded buttons. The bodice, ‘made of En was a dramatic contrast tor the fll skirt of ; taffeta. They carried arm ‘bouqu stromeria, white roses, day lilies and iris. Taylor Rippy of Grover was flower girl and Dustin Ingle of Grover was ringbearer. The bridegroom's father was best man. Groomsmen were Jimmy Faulkner and MIke Rippy, both of Grover, Sam Rhodes and Byran O'Neal, both of Hickory, Kevin Hendrix of Columbia, SC and Charles Weathers of Gainesville, Ga. Joshua Hollifield of Grover was junior usher. The bride's parents hosted the reception after the ceremony in the First Baptist Church Activities Building. The bridegroom's parents hosted the rehearsal din- ner September 22 at Shelby's Pancake House. Charles and Betty Carrigan of Kings Mountain are parents of the bride, granddaughter of Belon and Pauline Hanna of Kings Mountain. A graduate of Crest High School and UNC at Charlotte, she is the owner of The Image Makers, clothing boutique. The bridegroom is the son of Gary and Kay Harwell of Hickory and grandson of Violet Leatherman, Ethel Hildebran, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Harwell, Johnny Starnes and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hildebran, all of Hickory. A graduate of Hickory High School and Elon College, he is employed by Risk and Insurance Brokerage. MRS. CHARLES DEAN BULLOCK (Kelly Ann Goodson) Goodson-Bullock Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church was the setting September 9 for the wedding of Kelly Ann Goodson and Charles Dean Bullock. Rev. Mitchell Pruitt officiated the ceremony for which Kent Goodson, brother of the bride, was vocal- ist and Billie Sue Hicklin was organist. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Kent Goodson. She wore a Candlelight tea-length for- mal gown enhanced by lace’overlay and designed with off-the-shoulder bodice. She carried a silk bouquet of candlelight and burgundy roses with greenery. Keisha Puckett of Kings Mountain was her sister's only attendant. She wore a burgundy tea-length formal and carried a bouquet of Candlelight and burgundy roses. See Goodson, 5-B MRS. GARY A. SOWERS (Bea Morehead) Morehead-Sowers Bea Morehead and Gary A. Sowers, both of Shelby, were married September 17 in a ceremony aboard the Fantasy Cruise Line of Carnival Cruises in Port Canaveral, Florida. The bride is the daughter of Selma Head of Shelby and the late Calvin C. Head. The bridegroom is the son of Mildred S. Byrde of Statesville and the late John Sowers.
