ored by 13 Protestant denomina-
dions, the Greek Orthodox Church
and the Roman Catholic Church.
The cooperative project was a min-
stry of proclamation, education
sand witness, he said.

taught courses at Perkins School of
Theology, Southern Methodist
University in Dallas, Texas and
Scarritt College. He received his
undergraduate education at the
University of Tennessee and
Tennessee Wesleyan College and
earned the Master of Divinity and
Doctor of Ministry degrees from
Vanderbilt Divinity School.
He has authored a number of re-
ligious books, sermons and arti-
cles in various publications and
writes regular columns for church
newspapers. He is the author of the
popular newsletter, "The Southern
Fried Preacher."
He and his wife have four chil-
dren and four grandchildren and re-
side in Huntersville.
