Thursday, October 26, 1995 - THE KINGS MOUNTAIN HERALD - Page 3B Mrs. Gregory Ted Webster Kelly Lynn McQuaige McQuaige - Webster Kelly Lynn McQuaige of Cherryville and Gregory Ted Webster of Kings Mountain were married October 14, 1995 at First United Methodist Church. Rev. Charles Turner officiated the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of James H. Jr. and Linda Muri McQuaige of Cherryville. A graduate of Cherryville High School and Gaston College, she is employed as a secretary at Clar-Mar, Inc. in Cherryville. Her grandparents are Clara Muri of Cherryville and the late Marcus Muri, James Henry McQuaige of McFarlan, NC and the late Mollie C. McQuaige. The groom is the son of Bobby Fletcher and Annette Ware Webster of Kings Mountain. A graduate of Kings Mountain High School and Cleveland Community College, he is employed as a purchasing agent at KMG Minerals of Kings Mountain. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal, full length gown of satin accented with lace appliques, small pearls, and sequins. The off the shoulder neckline flowed into long, fitted sleeves, a full skirt and a semi-cathedral length train. The bride's headpiece was a white veil of fingertip illusion at- tached to a tiara of lace and pearls. A large poof, ac- cented with strands of pearls, adorned the back. The bride carried a cascade of white gardenias, roses and stephonotis. The cascade was offset with long, flow- ing strands of ivy. Shawn M. Rupard, of Charlotte was her sister's ma- tron of honor. ' Bridesmaids were LeighAnn Long, Shannon Henley, Julie Champion, and Deana Jones, all of Cherryville, Jessica Bryant of Charlottesville, Va., Jennifer Clark of Gastonia, and Angela Edwards of Charlotte. They all carried long-stemmed, red roses. Ashley Henley and Kristen Long of Cherryville were flower girls. Bobby Webster was his son's best man. Ushers were Jack Rupard and Thomas Wright of Charlotte, Barry Webster, Monte Rhea, Steve Long, and Joe Rhea, all of Kings Mountain, and John Webster of Erwin, NC. Fletcher Webster of Kings Mountain was the ring bearer. Music was provided by Martha Hoyle - organist, Christopher Cole - trumpet, Bobby Webster and Kelly McQuaige, both vocal soloists. A reception was given by the bride's parents at the Cherryville Country Club. The groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Satterfields in Shelby. | Following a trip to Gatlinburg, Tn., the couple will live in Cherryville. a MRS. J ONATHAN WILLIAM REID (Melinda Sheryl Edwards) Edwards-Reid Oakland Baptist Church in Rock Hill, SC was the setting Saturday for the wedding of Melinda Sheryl Edwards and Jonathan William Reid. Dr. Bob Shrum officiated the 6 p.m. ceremony. Barbara Beam was organist, Melanie O'Neal was pianist, Dave Brady was trumpeter and Kim Jackson and Faye Lucas were soloists for the program of nuptial music. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a gown of off-white satin and lace which her mother wore 30 years ago. It was accented with a bouquet of Calla lilies and roses. Julie Edwards, ‘the bride's sister from Myrtle Beach, SC, was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Merritt Cox Balding, Jill Foulds Williams and Susan Scoggin Dougherty, all of Rock Hill, SC, Amy Marie Edwards of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jenny Reid of Kings Mountain, Amy Carpenter Kule of Swansea, SC and Kim Ramsey of Edgemoor, SC. All the atténdants wore Hunter green shantung gowns with two-piece wrap collars with short sleeves and slim skirts. They carried arm bouquets of Stargazer and Rubrum lilies accented with tiny purple and yellow buds. } Mary Kathryn Archie was flower girl and Brett Wease was ringbearer. The bridegroom's father was best man. Groomsmen were Fraser Drew of Myrtle Beach, Bret Batdorff of Cary and Ryan Hollifield, Jimbo Thompson, Daniel Honeycutt and Bryan Dellinger, all of Kings Mountain. The. bride's parents’ hosted’ the reception” after the ceremony at Meadowlakes II Clubhouse in Rock Hill. The bridegroom's parents hosted the rehearsal din- ner Friday night at The Homeplace BBQ in Rock Hill. Mr. and Mrs. G. Wayne Edwards of Rock Hill are parents of the bride. She earned her B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education from Winthrop University in 1991 and her Masters degree in Education in 1994. She is a teacher at Northside Elementary School in Rock Hill. She is the grand- * daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bartles and Mrs. Margie B. Edwards and the late Ralston D. Edwards. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Reid of Kings Mountain. He graduated in 1993 from Appalachian State University with a B. A. in Business Administration. He is employed by Lowe's in Shelby. He is the grandson of Mrs. Jackie Rountree of Grover and the late Glenn Rountree and Mrs. Mary Reid and the late Richard Reid. The bride and bridegroom received wedding guests at a reception after the ceremony in the church fellowship hall. Frank and Kathy Burns hosted the rehearsal din- ner Friday night at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church fellowship hall. The bride is the daughter of Frank and Kathy Burns of Kings'Mountain. A 1994 graduate of Kings Mountain High School, she works at Revco Drug in Kings Mountain. She is the granddaughter of Grayton and Hazel Bollinger. The bridegroom is the son of Garland and Helen Sipes of Kings Mountain. A 1993 graduate of Kings Mountain HIgh School, he is employed by Eaton Corporation. He is the grandson of John Yarbro of Kings Mountain. After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tn., the new- lyweds will reside at 209 Parkdale Circle in Kings Mountain. NINA MAE BLANTON JAMES CALVIN MESSER Blanton-Messer Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Blanton of Kings Mountain announce the engagement of their daugh- ter, Nina Mae, to James Calvin Messer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Messer of Gastonia. Muench wins Rotary scholarship Jeffrey Muench, son of Dr. and Mrs. Laurence Muench of Kings Mountain, has won a $21,500 Ambassadorial scholarship from Rotary District 7680 a: wi : for one year's study in France or Belgium. Muench is a 1993 graduate of the University of the South in Sewanee, Tn. Muench, who previously served with the United States Peace Corps in the Central African Republic, will probably _ study in Paris. i Muench was a candidate MUENCH from the Kings Mountain Rotary Club for the award. He won the Hugh O'Brien Leadership Award in 1987 and was second vice-president of North Carolina Governor's School East in 1987. An honor student, he was listed in "Who's Who Among American Universities and Colleges" in 1993. in 1992 he worked for the Sanford for U.S. Senate campaign and was active in the New Hampshire pri- mary campaigns.
