The book covers a panorama of li- braries from coast to coast and will bea test for lovers of library archi- tecture, local history, and American Culture. & The idea for the book derived from a 1993 trip along the Lincoln Highway in the author's 1936 Oldsmobile. A life time lover of books and libraries, the authors fake a point of visiting libraries on their travels. On this particular frip they noted several unique li- braries with interesting and color- ful histories, and the idea of the Book was born. ¢ Richard Maturi is a widely rec- ognized author with more than 1,000 published articles and seven mvestment books. His articles have appeared in American History Hlustrated, Akron Beacon Magazine, Cleveland Magazine, Denver Post, The Plain Dealer, Casper Star-Tribune, and Executive Living. Three of the au- thor's books have been Money Book Club selections.
