King St., told police he was opening up about 6:36 a.m. December 19 and had just started to count the cash in the money drawer when a male wearing a ski mask burst into the station, knocked him from a stool on which he was sitting and grabbed the money and ran. Cleveland Ave., reported that a customer took two cartons of cigarettes and left the store without paying for them. Martin Robert Clarkson, 420 Tate Terrace, reported an incident of obtain- ing money by false pretenses. Silver Express. 501 E. King St., re- ported that a customer took three pack- ages of ham and 15 pieces of candy and left the store with the merchandise concealed in his shirt. Lora Bolin, 84 Pine Manor, reported theft oi a bicycle, VCR, CD player and tape player boom box from her resi- dence. The items are valued at nearly $500. Patti Cake Shop. 2800 Polkville Rd., Polkville, reported theft of silver trays valued at $300 and plastic trays valued at $60 from Central United Methodist Church. Kings Mountain Police recovered a burned 1993 Eagle at the old City Water Lake and are continuing an in- vestigation into possible arson. Pour halt of batter into a greased and floured 10-inch springform pan. Batter will be thin in pan. Combine pecans. 1/3 cup sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Sprinkle three-fourths of pecan mixture over batter in pan. Top with remaining batter. Sprinkle with remaining pecan mixture. Bake at 325 de- grees for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until & wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool on a wire rack 10 minutes. Remove sides of pan, let cool completely.
