Coach Candy Albergine's ladies opened their season last Thursday with a 33-17 win over R-S Central, and continued their winning ways Monday against East Rutherford, 50-18. Kathy Goode and Jacquie Hall scored 10 points each in the win over R-S. Anna Ramey added eight and Cherlyn Cole five. Roxanne Brown played a good floor game. Hall scored 22 points and Goode 14 in the win over East Rutherford. Jeana Thomas scored four, Cole three, Ramey, Drenda Byers and Vivian Perkins two each, and Renee Hall one. Members of the team are eighth graders Csherian Coleman, Kathy Goode, Jacquie Hall, Roxanne Brown, Manisone Phanthalack, Latonya Jackson, Kristy Worcester and Krissy Wheeler, and seventh graders Anna Ramey, Jeana Thomas, Laura Propst, Renee Hall, Cherlyn Cole, Drenda Byers, Vivian Perkins and Lasonya Jackson. KM JV team wins over North Gaston Kings Mountain High's JV bas- ketball team ran its record to 3-0 in the Southwestern 3-A Conference and 8-2 overall Tuesday afternoon with a 75-70 win at North Gaston. Marlon Byers led Aubrey Hollifield's charges with 18 points. Joseph Bell scored 12 points and had four assists and two steals. Keyotta Huskey scored 10 points and Kendrick Bell eight. Tario Campbell grabbed six rebounds. The Mountaineers return home Friday afternoon to face Burns.
