(Kellene Wells Mize) Mize-Bock St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Wilkesboro was the setting for the recent wedding uniting Kellene Wells Mize and Robert "Bob" Gary Bock Jr. The bride is the daughter of Steve and Betsy Wells of Kings Mountain and Rosemary Benge of Millers Creek and granddaughter of Lucy Wells of Kings Mountain and the late Harold Wells and Mabel Eury of Raleigh and the late Dumas Eury. She is a graduate of West Wilkes High School and earned her undergradu- ate degree in political science and communications and her graduate degree in school counseling from Appalachian State University. She is employed by the Iredell County Schools as a middle school counselor. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gary Bock of Florida, formerly of Chicago, Ill. He earned his undergraduate degree in clinical psychology from Winston-Salem University and his graduate de- gree in substance abuse counseling from Appalachian State University. He is employed as a substance abuse counselor with Carolina Psy Group in Statesville. Rev. Ken Asel officiated the 2 p.m. ceremony which included traditional organ music and the reading of the Acoprypha from Tobias and St. Mark. The bridal couple took communion and chose to combine in the service the religious adoption by the bridegroom of the bride's two children. Candace "Charlie" Russell of West Jefferson was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy Bridger of Boone and Breta Severt of Wilkesboro. They wore tea- length dresses of royal blue satin accented by a lace jacquard jacket and white slippers. They carried bou- quets of white lilies, daisies and white carnations. Roy Lightfoot of Lincolnton was best man. Ushers were the bride's brothers, Hart and Brett Wells of Kings Mountain. They were attired in light gray tuxe- dos. The bride's daughter, Emily Mize, was flower girl. She wore a long antique white satin dress overlaid with lace and carried a basket of flower petals. The bride's son, Aaron Mize, was ringbearer. He wore a child's gray tuxedo. Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin tea-length gown handmade by her paternal grandmoth- er, Lucille Wells of Kings Mountain. Seed pearls en- hanced the Sweetheart neckline and the back bodice was accented by a keyhole design enhanced by pearls. She carried a bouquet of white roses, daisies, day lilies, fern and ivy. The handkerchief she carried for "something old and something blue" had belonged to her late step-grandmother Mrs. Blannie Hart of Lansing and for "something borrowed" she wore her mother's pearl earrings and for "something new" she wore her formal wedding gown. The bride and bridegroom hosted the reception after the ceremony in the church fellowship hall. The royal blue and white motif of the wedding featured the theme, "Springtime in the Park." Blue hydrangeas, daisies and blue ribbon decorated the windows of the fellowship hall and helium-filled royal blue and white balloons were used throughout the hall. The three-tier wedding cake baked by Laura Brooks of Millers Creek was topped by a miniature bridal cou- ple in a gazebo. The tablecloth on the main refresh- ment table was handmade by the bride's late great- great grandmother Cora Hayes of Kings Mountain and was decorated with blue hydrangeas, daisies and baby's breath. Each table was arranged with a white tablecloth and centered with a bud vase of daisies and carnations. The gift table was covered with a table- cloth which was a wedding gift to the bride's father and stepmother from the bride's step-great aunt, the late Lillian Darnell of Ashe County. The bride's cousins Linda Wells Holland of Kings Mountain and Debbie Wells Cooke of Casar and the bride's aunt Nancy Wells of Kings Mountain and the bride's childhood friend Cindy Bolds Coffey of Millers Creek served refreshments. The Honorable and Mrs. David Byrd attended the register. Director of the wedding was Mrs. Jan Gragg of Millers Creek. Johnny and Bonita Guiton of Kings Mountain videotaped the wedding and reception. Musical entertainment for the reception was by Pete Small of Kings Mountain and the bride's brother, Hart Wells of Kings Mountain, on classical guitars. For a trip to Jekyll Island; Ga. the bride wore a white two-piece cotton suit and a corsage lifted from her bouquet. Out-of-town guests were the bride's step aunt and uncle, Nancy and Allen Clay of Lenoir; her cousins, Paul Stanley of Asheville and Anna Clay of Lenoir; her step uncle David Hart of Lansing and cousin Matthew Hart of Kings Mountain; her great aunts Frances Remmer of High Point and Thelma Remmer of Archdale, her cousins Ray and Alice Remmen and son Jeb of Greensboro; Lisa Sholar of Asheville; Former Senator Helen Rhyne Marvin and Ned Marvin of Gastonia; Brenda Hogarth of Raleigh; Johnny and Borita Guiton of Kings Mountain; Tom and Scottie Hogg of Raleigh; the groom's aunt Audrey Bock from Chicago; Doc Greenlawn of Winston- Salem; Rodney Stillwell of Winston-Salem; Joe Thomas of Statesville; the bride's aunt Nancy Wells and cousins Debbie Cooke and Linda Holland of Kings Mountain. The bride-elect is a graduate of Broome High School and attended Spartanburg Technical College and is employed at Springs Industries in Lyman, SC. The bridegroom-to-be attended Kings Mountain High School and is employed at Anvil Knitwear in Kings Mountain. The wedding will be an event of March 30 at 2 p.m. in Lyman, South Carolina.
